Ill start with the good: Tom Cleverley will be available for Sundayâs trip to the north-east after recovering from a 24-hour bug that caused him to miss Swanseaâs visit. Now the bad: Robin van Persie is likely to give Louis van Gaal a much-needed boost by being available for Manchester Unitedâs trip to Sunderland on Sunday, with the striker finally nearing match fitness. Van Persie is yet to feature for the United manager due to his late return to training following Hollandâs third-place finish at the recent World Cup in Brazil. The 31-year-old is expected to be selected to face Sunderland if he suffers no setback in training between now and the weekend, though it seems there will be yet more unwanted injury news for Van Gaal regarding Marouane Fellaini, who may have damaged ankle ligaments in training on Monday.
It is similar to last season, when they came here. Just our luck, and the question is will Borini be here to face them ?
I dont think we'll have any new faces in, and ive just about given up on Borini. I dont think Robin will start, but he'll defo come on at some point.
i think if fabio was coming he would have been here by now. we have had the bid on the table for a month. we need to cut our losses, stop chasing him like a jilted ex boy-friend and invest the money more wisely somewhere else
Nzog signing?? tough first home game this, but should be a full house so lets get behind the lads. TBH the pressure is on them as were expected to lose.
Would feel a lot better if Giac was fit and playing against these, he has the ability to run at players and they 'dont like it up em' when they are pinned back. Mind you Buckley might do the same?
Good point, the lad will never get a better chance to make a point than this. The United defence looked really shaky when Swansea came over the halfway line and we should put real pressure on them. A home debut against Manchester United with a packed SOL ......... if that doesn't inspire him nowt will. http://www.shieldsgazette.com/sport...brighton-manager-hyypia-s-criticism-1-6796987 "Sunderland were hopeful of landing Buckley on transfer deadline day back in January after agreeing a fee with Brighton and personal terms with the player, before the Seagulls pulled out of the move at the last minute." Why agree a fee to sell the lad, block it at the last minute then criticise the player What did they expect?
As per the physio room S Vergini Knock no date E Giaccherini Groin/Pelvis Injury 3 weeks B Jones Hamstring Injury 4 days Can`t find any info on Vergini
Another few days without a mention and I'll start worrying. Poyet has done his press conference, with the local media, and there's no mention of him. We really need Brown at the centre of defence this Sunday.
RVP will either start or come on later in the game but he won't get 90 mins, he just won't be fully fit. To be honest I'd rather he started, he's not an explosive substitute and would benefit more from having fresh players all over the pitch with him to begin with, take him off after an hour. Funny how your good and bad news is the exact opposite of our good and bad news!
He went into the tourney with all kinds of issues, thigh, groin. He wasn't fit to play in that world cup but still scored four, he's fit now though
You heard Gazza's back in football mate? Signed for a Sunday League side, let's just hope he can remember to set his alarm so he doesn't miss kick off
To think some people question the two for every position theory, some have even said we don't need a 2nd LB. One game in and two for every position isn't enough. Our defence is dangerously thread bare, Brown at rb is asking for the lad to pull up.
