Eye up peeps, Should be be concentrating on avoiding relegation this season, or should we be aiming for the stars. We may be hovering in a 'Millwall like' position (just above the drop zone), but 3 back to back wins would put us in the top half of the table. If however we lose our next three games to the likes of Palace and Leicester we could find ourselves in the drop zone... Which players are not fit to wear the shirt? Which players are not giving 100% week in week out, give away too many silly free kicks or just do not have the talent? Warnock is still looking to try to sign Clint Hill, dfays after his latest verbal assault on his former club. Thoughts?
To be honest - Diouf looks like the only player with any class - he seemed to be everywhere on Sunday....never thought I'd ever say that!
tommy, he suprised a lot of us as well Morning all. Tough few games coming up. We generally play better against better opposition but I hold no hope for this bunch. They look out of ideas and we are certainly missing that little bit of creativity. Diouf, Rosco, Hall & maybe even White to start. Need to switch things up and stop hoofing the ball for either Diouf to hold onto as support seems so slow coming he has to play for a foul or to Becchio who tends to move us back with his poor control or flick ons to no one more advanced than himself! Its a bit early to be saying Warnock has lost the dressing room, especially with all the off field crap going on at the moment, promises broken, money not coming and players signing must all be a factor. Who would sack Warnock anyway? Does Bates give a crap? The other lot certainly wont have the clout to do it.
Knee jerk reaction by long suffering fans bad results sack the managerinstead ofget rid of the cancer thats caused thed problem in the first placeyes BATES
Morning all. Spot on but the Leeds solution has always been sack the manager and hasn't that worked well. Time we tried a completely novel approach called back the manager. To be honest, I'm finding it nearly pointless discussing the bulk of our current squad. They are what they are, a bunch of freebies, unwanted by average clubs. No one can seriously expect a load of crap like we have to mount a promotion challenge. We are now reduced to hoping we get two loanees in before Thursday. Give me a break. Will they be any better than what we have? Of course not. Sorry to be negative but until some manager, Warnock or whoever, gets several million to strengthen, I can't see us progressing
Totally agree Eire/Leeds 60. Warnock brought these guys in to do a job and hoped to bring in his star players to put around them. This hasn’t happened and we are stuck with a bunch whos biggest attribute is there grafters. Grafters wont win you the league or Andy Hughes would be worth a small fortune! So what next? I guess all we can do is hope we get some money to spend soon, although its could well be to little to late. If Warnock gets the boot who would be better placed to handle a squad that he assembled? There’s probably not a lot of managers out there, that being said (and I'm a Warnock fan BTW) he looks a bit out of sort for us. Weird decisions in the starting line ups with players out of position, terrible subs when made, refuses to get the ball down on the deck and play. These should all be basics and these are the variables that managers have control over, yet he doesn’t seem to be even getting that right at the moment. A very tough run coming up as well............
Cant see Bates sacking Warnock it would cost him too much money and if he does sack him it will be just after the January window closes So the new boss cant demand dosh for new players
Good morning lads So Elland thinks Leeds are doing a Millwall this season Lets hope Millwall dont do a Leeds as its almost Christmas
Morning Mighty Warnocks contract is on a rolling basis I think! But your right, if he was sacked it would probably cost to recruit so that wont happen! Anyway, Bates can probably see its his own fault so making a scapegoat out of Warnock so any knee jerk reaction could jeopardise any deal he may have lined up.
Morning all. On the positive side, McCormack got half an hour yesterday, as well as a bit of game time on Saturday. Doubt he'll play for the whole of the Palace match, but at least if he starts, it'll give Palace something to think about. Hopefully we'll play some proper footy on Saturday & give it to Hall on one wing & an other on the other with instructions to take their FBs on & pull the ball back to a waiting Becchio or McCormack. Not sure who else will play. But we need something out of this game. In answer to questions, no point in sacking the Manager. Until the T/O happens, who would want the job anyway? I think everyone's trying to do their bit. Trouble is, too much hoofball & no leadership. When we do pass it around, we don't look too bad. Need to go back to basics & concentrate on playing footy.
Elland It's not the same anymore I used to get excited to go watch but it's a chore now, against watford in the first half when it was only 1-0 I turned round looked at my dad who was sat with his head in his hands, that's how good it is! Hoofball can suck my dick
The league table at the end of a season doesn't lie. Last year we finished mid table, this season we are playing around in the bottom half. I said it at the end of last season, get rid of every single one of them, we nearly did and it looks like we have brought equal quality back in. I am not saying Pearce is a bad player but he isn't what I expected. Peltier is better than what we had but not for the amount we paid for him, I just fail to understand what goes on when players pull on a Leeds shirt, who would have kept Bruce, he joins Hull and doesn't put a foot wrong.
Here's a different look at what's going on at the moment, and you can poo poo it if you want, but nothing else makes sense. 6 months ago GFH were fronting a buyout for a Middle East syndicate. Bates was shown the money so exclusivity was agreed and due diligence commenced. A couple of months later we're still no wiser as to whats going on, but rumors of a penalty clause hitch come out. Nothing happening weeks later until a statement is made by GFH saying they are now the buyer of the club. All strange because it becomes obvious that the original party were not going to deal with Bates and wanted out. GFH stay in but start taking flack because of the bank balance. Still very strange as they have told everyone they have the cash, and Bates will have wanted to see that cash, so it must be there. I'm thinking GFH are buying a % of the club in reality, just to get the deal done. They will then tell us they have sold shares early next year to investors, who will probably be the original buyers who got sick of dealing with Bates. So I'll just wait and see what happens because if indeed the deal is almost done and just waiting for the FL to ratify it. If however it doesn't happen before the end of the year, Bates will owe at least £2m to GFH and maybe more, plus will probably end up with huge cash-flow problems due to the way Bates has milked the club leading up to this protracted sale. Bates needs to do it or he's fooked.
Spot on, Peltier is better then what we had, he was our star buy at 850k, BUT.... not good enough for Leicester. Gutted we didn't get Ward, he was the only player I would have loved, think the lad held on as long as he could before signing for Ipswich. I was expecting Pearce to be better then he is.
Elland, because its a fact that GFH have put at least £2m into the club, whilst waiting for completion.
It's my understanding that they paid £2 million to bates as a kind of non refundable deposit to prove their interest. They couldn't prove funds directly so basically said here is £2 million for exclustivity, you pay us back if you pull out and if we don't stump up the cash by X date we lose it hence why Bates doesn't give a toss.
I wonder what would happen if Bates suddenly dropped dead tomorrow (apart from us all having a party)
