Would surely be their leading scorer. Would definitely have banged in four for them since season start

On Hunt, I don't really see where he slots into the 3-5-2, especially if we end up taking Blackstock on permanently. However, we also need a couple of players who can offer something different. BMD switched to a 4-3-3 in the second half against Charlton, and that is the kind of formation that Hunt can work in, as one of the wider forwards.

I feel a bit sorry for him because he's had double pressure heaped on him coming here. The expectation that every signing gets from Leeds fans, and it can't be easy coming in to work for a manager who you have been really successful for before, the expectation is for you to reproduce that for him again. By all accounts he's been back in fine form in the development squad (obviously not on the same level) but if there's a game that calls for a slightly different approach, he might well get a bit of time to show what he has got again.

Whats to say that Hunt can't work with the new formation? Remember it was only a few weeks ago many thought Smith was a spaz and not good enough for Leeds. Hunt has done the business in the past, but not at Leeds. he does however have something that I wish other players would get, and thats realism. he knows he's been a flop since he arrived and wants nothing more than to make up for it. Smith was garbage but turned into Messi with the new system. Hunt scored a hat-trick in the u21 side and I bet he would thrive with the new system. I think he deserves one chance at it before we cast him off completley. What happenes if he turns out to be brilliant, he's ours already so costs no money so give him a go, and if he's still shyte get rid then

A very interesting point re Diouf Gary Kelly told me he would not play again for Leeds in Nov as he would be entitled to about 500k

Good post Doc. The diamond never really worked that well for anyone, other than Brown at the base and Austin at the head. Or Austin at the base and to a degree Ross at the head. 352 works much better. So just maybe if we ever get the opportunity, give Ross a break and play Hunt and Varney up top to see what they can do.

What about Poleon I hear you cry? Well he's a work in progress and is definitely the future of the club. And he can fit in anywhere. So let's see what Varney and Hunt can do to see whether or not we should keep them. If they like the new formation and can succeed and score goals, maybe we won't need Blackstock. If they can't & still stick out as not worth the money, then sign up Blackstock and sell/pay off Varney and Hunt.

Players contracts with 'trigger clauses' is the most stupid development ever. Brown was a classic point in case and the reason why I will never like the coont. He knew his club were in trouble, but refused to go anywhere because he was on a good wage. he also knew that his club could never play him again because it would 'trigger' a wage rise and they had no money. So Brown knowing this just sat on his arse for over 12-months, even though Grayson had tried to sign him twice and other clubs had also tried to sign him. He would have been allowed to go on a free but he said fook you I'll wait and pick up my wages until my contract expires. coont and to make matters worse Ryan hall has been done by the club for talking about something that Brown actually did.

I need some help here guys, as I can't get my head around the reason Terry Butcher has left inver caly thistle and gone to Hibs? His team, the team he built is doing well yet he goes to a team lower in the league ....... Is Hibs a bigger club with plenty of cash? its the scots prem league ffs and he turned down a move to Barnsley recently too. I dont get it, will whitejock know what the fook is going on?

Kissa, last summer the wife and I stayed at a hotel near Dumfries for a wedding. The Inver Caly team were there Friday night and all well behaved, including Butcher and his backroom team. He's a nice bloke and seems to have the squad well organised, and I get it that his wife and kids have spent years in Scotland since his playing days with Rangers. He's a proud Englishman and ex England captain, but cannot be that ambitious if he would turn down jobs in England to ply his trade in that league. ICT have given him a wage for years and he's done a good job, but to leave for Hibs, its like AVP leaving OT and going to the 3rd division in Finland.

Can only think its for quality of life, as it can't be huge wages. Its easy, dont have to kill yourself doing an average job is enough and the scenery is ok

Breaking News: Middlesboro have called a press conference for 10:30 Tomoz, where its expected that Murhino's assistant from Real Madrid last season, will be taking over on a 2.5 year deal.

This could mean that Boro will be harder to beat and may play out of their skin for the new boss?

Though cash donations and cheques (made payable to 'Ell-and-Bucks-business-ventures') may be looked at favourably.
