Merge the threads under if you all hate Leeds have ago & be done with all the bullshit. Maybe sticky it as well to give the visitors somewhere to vent
Down in London and staying in Fulham. Nightmare on the tube with all the Chelsea fans. But the pubs are quiet, if not frigging expensive - £4.30 for a pint of Pride. Tis nice though
Elland, where the phuk did you go to pay £4.30 for Pride. That's more expensive than the airport, which is a rip off! £3.50 is about the going rate for Pride, with Fullers generally being more expensive than Youngs or Shep. Neame. A pint of Yorkshire gold last week was only around £3, with Sam Smiths being even less when you can find such a pub.
Sam Smith pubs are a God-send for northern misers. There's a nice one on the Strand called the Lyceum and one near Trafalgar Sqaure called The Chandos. The Jon Snow in Soho is also nice but gets fecking crowded on a weekend.
I'd avoid the John Snow if I were you, not unless you enjoy bending down in the showers for your excitement. How do I know what type of pub it now is? Because my drinking mates avoid going there now when there's an A to Z pub crawl for the reason that it isn't now quite the pub it was.
Some little backstreet pub called the Lazy Fox in Fulham. Last time I was down, in Waterloo, a pint of Pride cost me £3.90. Half expected it in snooty Fulham, but lowdown Waterloo? Buggers wouldnt even give me a written receipt omitting the words "beer". If they'd done that, I'd have stayed for a couple more and been able to claim it on expenses Might have had a sore head for this morning though, which would not have gone down well considering the meeting I had to attend and be grilled at Elland - certainly not down here doing any Christmas shopping. Mighht have been the done thing when we were wee, but with the advent of t'internet, London is just a very expensive place to get the same stuff you can get much cheaper
