Hey folks, How is everyone, Paul Green goes back to his old stamping ground on Saturday, where Derby entertain the mighty Whites. Wouldn't it be great if he could score the winner??? Whats your team for Saturday, wherer would Diouff fit in, if at all? Can we make it 4 wins in a row? Varney is available again after suspension, should he get anywhere near the team? What about Pearce? Is he as good as we thought he was going to be?
Morning all I'm not going to speculate on anything about the club today, I prefer to bask in the knowledge that for the 1st time in yonks, we've won 3 on the bounce and playing well. What more can a fan of this club want. So just now I think we're top of the form league and playing some stuff thats good enough for promotion (If the season was 4 games old) Our season started when the T/O happened
Morning all. Wont it make a pleasant change once again, after many years, to look forward to the transfer market opening in January. Hopefully a few wins between now and then to keep us within touching distance
Morning all. Yes, 3 on the bounce against top sides. Our season is moving forward. Paul Green.... Wouldn't it be great if he could score the winner??? - Would be brilliant. Hope he starts ...where would Diouff fit in, if at all? If everyone's fit, I start with the same 11 that started last week. Diouf can come on as and when required. If we need someone to put their foot on the ball, slow things down, & control the game, he's just the right man for the job. Can we make it 4 wins in a row? Hopefully. Varney...should he get anywhere near the team? Subs bench at best I would think. Agreed What about Pearce? Is he as good as we thought? Probably. But who's going to get dropped? Certainly not Tait, & I doubt Lees is going to be moved. I feel a bit sorry for Kisnorbo. He's sitting there waiting to get a game to show what he can do in an ever improving defence. Then Tait comes along & is now almost 1st on the team sheet. My only possible change might be to look at Ashdown instead of Kenny. Somehow doubt that will happen.
Morning All, Green to score the winner? Quite frankly, I don't care who scores the winner - as long as we win (would be nice for him, though). Diouffy? Agree with Boggers on this one. Nice to have a potential match winner sitting on the bench again! Pearce? I think I'm beginning to understand why he wasn't appointed captain now. Still a good player, but got some leadership skills to learn. I do wonder if it would be beneficial for him to line up alongside Tate, to get the benefit of his experience, however Lees has been really solid these last few weeks & it would be a shame to replace him. Varney? Only teamsheet he should be on is the one listing the players going out of the door in January, IMHO. How many chances does he need to be given? The charitable side of me does wonder how he would fare in this new, confident team we've got, as we've only been able to judge him playing in a crap team - but it would have to be his very last chance if he got some playing time.
Morning all Varney got sent off against Millwall & it didnt make any difference. Dont want him anywhere near what we are building now! Pearce will look good next to Tate as well, but lets not start juggling the deffence about again! Its Tates & Lees spot to lose, thats what a squad should be about. I know a lot of Pompey fans who really rate Pearce so I am sure we will see him play better at some point. Greens on a good bit of form at the moment and will be right up for this one. Derby are a hard nut to crack at home so we will need everyone firing on all cylinders regardless of the last three results!
Morning all Heavy snow here in Essex, bloody freezing cold. So good to see the roads were nicely gritted in advance - not! Anyone else got snow?
I think our rise in form is partly to do with a footballing centre mid Norris/green/tonge all have started playing football, I love Austin but he doesn't have the ability to get the ball down n pass it
A light dusting this morning here.... & of course the transport couldn't cope. I've spent a lot of time working in what are officially described as 3rd world countries. Pity I now have to come and live in one that isn't supposed to be!!!
Stick him on up front if and only if Becchio gets injured. If he's not cutting the mustard then we can get a new striker in January.
Morning all. I wouldn't change it. Alot of our last starting XI are very refreshed for this stage of the season due to injuries, or not playing at all even. And its isn't like we've had a midweek game. What a bench we would have though. Plenty of choices for Warnock if required, including game changers.
I wouldn't change it although I want Pearce back in the team. It shouldn't be forced though so for now he'll have to wait. I actually really rate him but it'd be unfair on who we'd drop, I'd even be tempted to play him LB instead of Peltier (I've heard he can play LB) but then again I think that should be Drury's spot
It's either a dissertation or brevity in extremis. Love it, Exodus. Btw, I'm hearing that Diouffy hasn't trained this week due to his thigh strain & his availability for Derby is being called into question.
Kenny Byram Lees Tate Drury Hall Norris Tonge Thomas McCormack Becchio Subs: Ashdown White Pearce Diouf Green Brown Gray Varney to be shot in the paddock before kick off
As WJ said, apparently Diouf is a doubt, but I would expect an unchanged line-up anyway, if it ain't broke after all...
