Morning Elland and all - Chip Van said we were the better side yet reports I read made it sound like we were second best but the 3 points is what is important. I have said it before - LUST play right into Bates hands with some of the things they do, give him ammunition and he will fire it. They can do 3 things right but do one thing wrong and watch Bates emphasise it. I thought the sign outside Elland Road was good (in a comical way) but really, did they not expect to stir up trouble for themselves with that one? Was that sign for the benefit of the fans or was it a childish swipe at Bates? What good was it going to honestly do, again I thought it was funny, it brought a smile to my face and an initial thought of "oh dear, this will upset Bates". Not only will it upset him, it will make him even more stubborn and give him cause to dig his heals in. Do I think LUST are idiots - NO Do I think LUST have made things slower by antagonising Bates and making his more stubborn to prove a point - YES Another negative for me - Their continuous statements (LUST) are not for our benefit, they are constant petty swipes at Bates, it is like school yard name calling. At the end of the day like it or lump it, Bates is the owner of our great club, if he wishes to sell he will if he doesn't he won't.
Morning Ristac, having watched the highlights, Diouff is a class apart. I can understand what you are saying about LUST. Lets face it. They are there to be shot at, and fair play to em, actually doing something. I wish I was that brave. The sign was great, but would have been better to invest in a proper billboard close to the City Centre, gain some momentum.

So my expectations is not any higher than they have been all the time I don’t think LUST is idiots, but they have come out with some statements they should have kept to themselves Absolutely right, a win is a win. Absolutely, the 2 goal cushion was nice, great save by Kenny tipping the ball over the bar late on in the 2nd half. LUST are kinda in a no win situation. If they keep quiet, fans say they don't know anything!
Has anyone had a good look at the investors website? Not sure I am that keen on fund managers and venture capital types running a football club. Would there be passion for the club or like these type of organisations a 2 yr plan to max out a profitable resale.
I think we will have a lot of these nail-biting experiences this season, but it would have been nice to have a few games where we just cruised to a win. As for LUST, I don’t think they are in the know.
Morning all A good result for us at the weekend, but I didn't enjoy the closing stages and wondering whether we'd throw it away! I'm still massively impressed with LUST for actually doing something, getting people organised and so on. There are a couple of things that I question, as has been mentioned here a couple of the statements have been nothing more than thinly veiled attacks on Bates. To be honest if they want to be taken seriously by EVERYONE, acting a little more professionally in that respect could help. That being said, I'm glad we have them, and glad they provide a voice for those of us who aren't happy with the way things are being run and aren't willing to roll over and accept it.
Morning lads. Sorry I'm late. Early morning unloading at work. Forest stats are probably as expected. With the current squad, any wins will be hard fought and we will probably be second best even at that. Still at least when we lose, its only by odd goal which is a marked improvement on last season. Interesting scum and pool fans let themselves down after yesterdays game. SKY will be devastated their two darling clubs fans misbehaved. Imagine the media circus had it been ours. Personally dont believe a word of Bates statement. Great to see LUST are really getting to him without resorting to bis bully boy, insulting tactics
Totally agree LeedsInDurham LUST might have 8,000 members but when only 200 people show up outside the ground to protest on a day that 20k fans attended you have to look at it through the eyes of Bates - It does seem a minority. You then have to ask why it was only 200 when all of us seem to be in agreement that we want Bates out. Morning All, Enjoyed the first half & a bit of the second. Pelts being at CB made me feel more comfortable for some reason. We really missed him when he went off. Hope it's just a niggle, & not another long term injury. Midfield & attack looked good too, in fact it was a good team performance. And then White & Varney replaced Pelts & Poleon. That's when the trouble started for me. I'm personally a big LUST supporter. This is a fledgling organisation, and people tend to forget that. They aspire to be professional in their approach, but have made rookie mistakes, and will continue to do so, hopefully with less frequency. It's the nature of the beast. People also forget who LUST are dealing with. They are not up against a normal 'professional' Chairman. They're up against the old cnut, and he would try the patience of any body, professional or otherwise. Have you ever, in the history of professional football, heard a Chairman consistently attack his club's fans in such a way? I think not, This is a unique old b'stard, and conventional rules of engagement just don't work. I believe LUST should be highly commended & thanked by us all. I certainly couldn't have done it, but someone had to! 8000 members is a hugely significant membership, and a notable dissenting voice. Everyone can see how important they are, and in particular Bates, hence the regular public attacks (complete with bald lies). Nah, they've done a brilliant job for me. Their knockers disappoint me. It's so easy to criticise.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not against LUST in any way, and I agree with what you are saying about Bates whitejock, but what I'm saying is that's no reason to sink to his level. By putting out consistently professional messages that are providing information for the fans without a LUST opinion on Bates they would get more respect. We all know what Bates is like, we all have our own opinion on him, and even though LUST is an organisation for change, it doesn't mean they should get personal against the current owner. As you say, they're fledgling and they need to learn from certain things this season, and they will.
Was this actually a LUST initiative? I don't remember them sending out any form of communication about it. Seemed very informal to me. I only heard through Loiner on this forum. I agree, whether it's intentional by them or not. Then again, if they kept their powder dry & simply accepted all of the insults Bates throws at them, there would be a rabid attack on boards like this claiming that there was no point in their existence, as they were simply whimpering whipping boys without a voice against Bates. They can't win! Personally, I would take Bates to court for his latest attack. Even if it's only for the word 'illiterate'. A comment like that in isolation could harm professional reputations, far less the other content of his rant. Perhaps they will, but are waiting for Bates to leave Leeds first - so he can't use us as his wallet!
now that, I agree with. Bates has said some pretty libellous things about them, and I'm sure they could, and should, follow them up
