Kammy reckons he knows Bates quite well and remembers a conversation he had with him after Abramovitch took Chelsea over. Bates was saying that without that deal Chelsea were going bust, but privatley told kammy that there was no chance of that happening. he's doing something similar this time saying the club needs investment, because he doesn't want to use his own cash (Ours he's ripped off from us) Read the kammy piece and make your own mind up. Funny though that kammy wrote us off last season because of lack of ambition and sales of best players, but is now on Warnocks side and thinks his buiys are bound to suceed. Got the impression that he thinks Grayson wasn't man enough to stand up to Bates
Morning all. Not sure I see the McCormack situation as being the same as Beckford's. When Beckford was with us, we were in L1 & fighting to make progress. The deal was, Beckford helps to get us out of L1 & then moves to a PL club to pursue his career & better himself. We're now in the Championship with every chance of going up this season. Interesting to note where Beckford is now. Potentially a salutory lesson for McCormack
I think that Everton were interested but now they've got 15million for Rodwell, they're going to get in a bigger name. Hopefully, McCormack will sign a new deal now. The only Prem. clubs that would be interested in him at the moment would be either newly promoted teams or ones that are going to be struggling. He'd be much better off staying at a club that will be looking to get promotion, playing first team and keep scoring goals. If he goes to a dead end Premier League team, it could be a terrible move for him.
Not sure of the logic there. If were not good enough for promotion it would seem unlikely were good enough for any kind of cup run. Personally not mad about these cup matches particularly after the mauling with got last season against scum b. They are more of a distraction whether you win or lose them. The win against scum previous season almost derailed the remainder of that season
Kammy furious with the paper assessment of the league. He tipped us to do well but wouldn’t write anyones chances off before a ball was kicked so only said we would do well with Diouf being a star for us. 'So paper fabricates story shocker' Sure it would have been the sun as he writes for them but I could be wrong as I haven’t seen the article.
Afternoon all, Just seen that Everton have been strongly linked (as in expected to complete today) with a deal for an Olympiakos striker/winger with the Rodwell money. Hopefully thats the end of any Ross rumours, and they have decided to look elsewhere.
