    Morning Crew,

A big thank you for making yesterday a big success. On their travels Ristac was shot at, Bucks was leggless by lunchtime, Boggers pulled, doc got lost, and YWBK froze his ******* off.

The transfer window has been firmly closed. There will be no more wheeler dealing until the end of the season. Firstly lets have a look at all the ins and out.

A few points, and something Eire has picked up on. Just because another club shows an interest in one of our players, it doesn't mean you MUST sell them, especially if they are contracted to you for the next 18 months and there are other clubs chasing him. I am of course talking about Becchio. Celtic refused 4 or 5 offers for Hooper, the final offer being just shy of 10m pounds, whereas we got a couple of hundreds of thousands of pounds plus a player they did not want...

Habibou is a shrew bit of business getting him on a season long loan with the view of a permanent deal. The 25 yo 6'4 duck hating hitman could offer something that we have rarely seen in recent times, a big target man.....

I do not know however how Warnock is going to keep McCormack, Somma, Diouf, Morrison and Habibou happy, unless Morison or Habs can play on the wing as we do not have ANY wide players. Surely Warnock knows what he is doing.

Colins love child Stephen has also joined the ranks at ER. The 31 yo former England left back will I believe add stability to our defence. Lets hope he shows what he is capable of and hope Colin can get the best out of him....

Defence for the rest of the season will be Byram, Warnock with Pelts and Lees at centre backs, thoughts???

Finally Ross Berkley has (apparantly) agreed to stay till the end of the season. Again, good bit of business.

What are we thinking about the ins and outs?

Is it going to be good enough to get us in the play offs?

Have we had more success in transfers under GFH, then under Bates

Is Warnock more shrewd in the market place than Grayson?

Morning - Reserving judgement on the ins. Totally agree with you on the Celtic Hooper issue, how many players have put in transfer requests and the club brush it under the table, keep it away from the fans and tell the player he is under contract and going nowhere?

LUFC orchestrated Becchio out in order to provide funds, GFH haven't spent a penny in the transfer window and they have made a profit on selling our leading goal scorer - Neil Warnock will either come out of this a genius or want shooting when we look back on this window and wonder just why we sold someone with 19 goals to his name this season.

The biggest thing for me is that we actually got players that other teams wanted. Ahost of Championship clubs were after Berkley. Warnock was wanted by Wolves, Bolton and West Ham and Im sure our sarf London friends would take Morison back in a heart beat

Habibou is a gamble but hey, he's on loan, lets see what happens.

Morning all. Intresting to see how we play from now on. Ross is & has to remain our main goal threat, which means he has to play up front, rather than out wide. With the arrival of Warnock the player, will White be returned to the bench or provide width & pace out left? I'll leave you with a song

Habibou, Habibouoooo, bigger than Becchio, but will he score more goals?

    Becchio speaks...

"The years I spent at Leeds were the most marvellous, and until today, the happiest of my career. I will carry the affection and love of the Leeds fans in my heart," he said.

"I want to thank Leeds United for giving me the opportunity to play in the English league and I would like to thank (technical director) Gwyn Williams for giving me the chance to play for Leeds United.

"Now I have begun a new chapter in my career, in Norwich. I don't have any doubt that I will find the same love and affection as I did from the Leeds fans at Norwich."

Morning all, and on the whole I'm very happy with GFH and Warnock this morning. Although Ristac is correct as Warnock will be a saint or a sinner by the end of the season.

On the plus side we've moved out either on loan or permanent a load of deadwood. We've brought in better and thats a first for a while. Morrison could be better than Becchio, and the HHHHBBBBBB geezer could be brilliant or a shocker. Warnock junior should on paper be fantastic and help sort out our defence. Where do Ross and somma fit into these plans. Will Ross be having a roaming wide role?

Can't wait to see how this develops

Morning all. Away from internet most of yesterday thankfully. GFH got what they wanted at the end of the day. We should have a better team than we had a month ago, subject to these new faces being any good. A few weeks will demonstrate if thats the case. They've also managed to do it by doing as most of us suspected, by spending nothing because they have nothing. Forget the daft argument they are keeping a warchest for Warnocks successor, if they had no faith in him, they would'nt have allowed Warnock to dish out three and a half years all over the place. Who will Warnock focus his attentions next? He only criticises players he hasn't bought, so only a handful left or him to unsettle before the summer as he did with Becchio. Byram, Lees and Ross can all generate a few quid so my money is on most or all of them to go in summer.
So all in all, yesterday was better than our usual transfer deadline day but nothing like we all hoped for back at the start of the season. These new boys better hit the ground running as we need a serious haul of points from our remaining games to make the play offs

    Morning all,

The players we brought in look decent. Happy with them.

Only, Hall is still our only out and out winger. Could argue Diouf, White, Varney, Green, Tonge too but not convinced.

Also concerned that we have no real cover at the back. I like the sound of Warnock, Pelts, Lees, Byram. Pearce to cover CB, white LB but is that really enough??? fatigue/injuries anyone??

Still got the emergency window i suppose

    Morning all <ok>

El, you do release Morrision is a bit of a lump as well? Bigger than Grant Holt anyway, so don't expect him to be speeding down the wings!

I wasn't too bothered about Becchio going I said all season take him out of the side and we play better football.

I think Norwich fans will be shocked at his lack of technical ability but hes likely to win them over with his hard word.

Watching that interview was a bit **** like never good seeing an ex with someone else haha

at least he can't say Norwich properly

I'm hearing that Warnock was after Morison from the start, and it was his idea to throw in Becchio as part of the deal. Maybe we did have a bit of cash, but Norwich wanted a bit more than we had. Warnock clearly dislikes Becchio, the reason he has gone is nothing more than that.

I do genuinely believe we are still better off than with bates. Under bates, we'd have sold Becchio and not had a replacement of any pedigree. In this instance, Becchio has been let go in order to get a primary target.

If we've missed out on Chris Burke because Birmingham want too much for him, then Birmingham are stupid. They now have a player who is out of contract in the summer, who they can't sell, and will have to keep on paying. They missed out on what they could have got, for a fee they wanted and now they are stuck with him. I can imagine this is what bates was like when trying to shift our deadwood in the past, which is why none of it went anywhere.

I feel a bit like last night I finished with a girlfriend I'd dated for years, then got legless and pulled a real cracker, a ravishing beauty, ............and now its the morning............ the cold light of day is coming though a crack in the curtains, my head is throbbing, and I am about to risk pulling the covers back to see her face in daylight.............. not sure exactly what I am going to find under the covers.

    In summary

    - the outs are really good (apart from Becchio, who I rate in this league - not sure about him in the Prem) and its important to get people off the payroll who are unlikely to feature
    - the ins....... I'd like to believe they are all real crackers, like my imaginary conquest last night....... but I expect we have to wait and see

What I would say is this - its the first window for over 2 years when I felt at least hopeful at the end of it. I have to assume all these are Warnock choices, no doubt he'd have liked a couple more, but my feeling now is that he has to start delivering - preferably by getting us a playoff place and then promoted, at the very least buildingf a momentum so we are obvious strong favourites next season. (I bet he is still here, by the way, unless we do badly to end of season). Up to now I have been one of those saying you can't blam Warnock, as the takeover bollox meant he got nothing, but now I think he should have enough, of his own choices, to show us what he can do (if he can)

At least Warnock has said he is continuing his search for a winger in loan market. Frustrating our lot couldn't afford 750k for Burke. Maybe he was a bit overpriced, but surely any owner with any resources would have speculated the extra few quid if it maybe made the difference in getting promotion.

    Morning all

Celtic wanted £16 million for Hooper I was told last night, crazy money if you ask me. Just proves how we've got no resolve to keep players. Wouldn't be suprised if Delia turns to White i the summer due to her Leeds fetish.

Habibou is even going to be a cult hero or fall flat on his face return to Belgium and be forgotten about very quickly. We've had enough pants on loan strikers to remember every single one. Wouldn't be surprised if we use a striker rotation system or play Diouf and Ross out on the wings.

As for the rest of the in and outs not bad. Glad we got Warnock in and I'm going to reserve Judgement on Morrision for a few game, would have liked to see a winger and CB come in but there's still the loan window in 7 days time. We might be able to get Burke or even Boyd (think we might need to by some contact lenses first though).

I was thinking do we still have those two trialist with us and are they signing at all?
