Morning Everyone,

Sam Byram completed another 90 minutes of reserve ream team, as Leeds went down 2-0 at Birmingham. The game saw Zidic score a sensational goal.

Who knew that McDermott used to be a scout? Not me! In a recent interview, he goes on to say having a good scouting network is key in identifying players who are under appreciated or under-known elsewhere. Furthermore, its useful in that it avoids a situation we’ve found ourselves too regularly in – overpaying for ageing Premier League players on name value, when some analysis would show options from lower tiers would have provided more for less.

Leeds travel down to Reading tomorrow. There was a time not too long ago that a midweek game could mean we get wholloped by 4 or 5 goals. Obviously, we have seemed to got past that.

Is anyone confident that we can pick up a win?

Should McDermotts men be playing for a draw?

Should any playwers be dropped / rested for tomorrows game

Who's looking forward to the match thread?

Morning Ellandback and all who follow <ok>

A point would be good, this is a match the manager will be desperate to get something from.

Personally I wouldn't rest anyone, it is early in the season and they have just had a break for Internationals.

Good morning all

Thought BM's history as scout was well known, Elland - isn't that how he started at Reading?

I was pessimistic before Bolton and was wrong, am now thinking we can get a result at Reading, so hope that I am not wrong again. Reading don't score many goals (more than us, of course, though) so I can see a 0-0 or even a 0-1.

I see Millwall have unbeaten Blackpool tonight at their home fortress, so another easy game for our top performing friends. Wonder if they can outdo their Derby performance? Anyone can get relegated, its getting relegated with style and crowd-thrilling panache that counts. <ok>

Morning all <badger>

On Sam I would say great that he got another 90-minutes in, but wondering exactly what the problem is as nobody seems to know? Redfearn last week said that this is something Sam is going to have to manage in the long term. That says to me we don't know what's really wrong with him, or if he needs an operation. lets go back to last season when becchio didn't start the season as he was out injured, the club should have had an operation done on him in the close season and didn't, so his injury didn't clear up. I question the competence of our medical team since Bates sacked the blokes at TA. We had the problem with Billy Painter after we bought him, we didn't see him as he was out injured and the medics couldn't sort it? We had the problem with Somma who was fit to start training and every time he started he broke down? Same problem with Parker before that. Is it just me who worries that our medics are maybe not as good as we would like?

BMD is one of the most respected scouts in Europe and has been for years. he has relationships all the place and knows who to speak to, very similar to the guy that the bar-codes have. So I'm confident he can set the basics in place at TA.

Going back to Reading will be a good spectacle, and BMD will get a well deseerved reception from their fans. A good test for us as they are one of the favourites to go back up this season, especially with parachute money and a decent manager.

Hope he picks a winning team and the players just get on with it, and not moan about too many games. They should try and get picked for every match and worry that whoever takes their place will keep them out

Morning ristac, wondering if its worth starting with Byram, especially if Peltier is still carrying the knock from Saturday

I hope then, that McDermott can use his scouting knowledge to get some decent scounts in. Its been a while since we have unearth some decent young talent, apart from our home grown

I wouldn't start with Byram, unless there were injuries (anyone know if Peltier is now ok?)

best defensive record in division, so you would not rush to change the back 4

Don't know if anyone else uses LUTV, I signed up again after KB left.............. find it disastrously bad. Anyone else with views?

Thought I'd avoid work for a while by looking at it now, and none of the items load. Still no full 90 minutes options either, unless I am looking in the wrong place.

on a positive note, there is an "LUTV Support" link you can click on, and this has the following extremely helpful message:

Sorry, We couldn’t find the page you requested The page you are looking for may have moved, been renamed or is temporarily unavailable

Bloody marvellous, pity is I paid for a year of this crap

Elland I suppose you can say that Smith and Murphy were brought in because he saw something in them for the future and thought it a sound investment. We however after being used to bringing in ****, want instant results with whoever we get. I think we need to learn to trust this guy and his choices, as he seems a million miles ahead of Warnock and Grayson. His choice of Rudy as captain which was inspired wasn't it?

He played the full 90 minutes yesterday in a development squad game, I believe Hall played in it as well.

@Doc - Glad it isn't just me, for a few seasons now I have wondered if we have a good enough medical team.

@20/20 - Yes Bolton was a good win but would it have been more of a shock had we come away empty handed from the bottom team who haven't won a game yet and have managed just two draws a minus 7 (now 8) goal difference and who went out of the cup to Tranmere <ok> A much harder test tomorrow.

Morning all. Ive been harping on about the scouting thing for ages. Lots of decent talent here in LOI. Players available on a pittance so would be well worth a punt. Lots of great players from Ireland have served Leeds well through the years, Giles, Kelly, Mc Phail, Harte. McDermott seems to visit here a fair bit so maybe would look at setting up a scouting network if we havent already got one. Im hopeful of four points from next two games but Im more pleased that we're hard to beat this season and we can look forward to each match without fear

Now that its working properly, let's try again. I'd start with Mowatt instead of Murphy to give the former some game time and the latter a bit of a break. I would have rested Austin as well. But this is likely to be too hard a game to risk not having Austin. That said, I'd be tempted to start with McCormack and Smith or Poleon up top with Diouf at the head of the diamond. Should be a good game & I think we could scrape a 2-1 win.

Morning all,

Going to the game tomorrow and can see us winning 2-1, the white travelling army making it seem like a home game.
Watched Reading v Brighton on Sunday and neither team impressed me tbh. I think QPR will definitely go up as champions, and the second auto spot is wide open. Blackpool will fall away, as will Billy 'job done' Davies' Forest.

Morning all!! Gosh, such positive vibes flowing ... I really believe we can beat Reading, will be a very tough game, they will want to beat McD and the Mighty Leeds ... keep our concentration and discipline, frustrate them and I see a 2-0 as a real possibility.

Mowatt will get another chance soon, will take giving him around ten starts this season in all comps ... don't want another Byram situation by over playing him too soon.

LUTV is shoddy, they really do need to buck up their ideas ... this is one of the amateurish things that still need fixing at Leeds.

Millwall to deny Blackpool three points tonight ... The Den on a Tuesday night will be tough ... agree that Blackpool will fall away from the top.

Any points from the Reading game will be great, cement our excellent start and set us up nicely for the next home game. Come on Leeeeeeeds!!!
