    Morning Folks,

I got to thinking last night about the squad, in particular the defence. I reckon we have the best defence today that we have had since the time we got relegated to the Championship some 8/9 years ago.

Right back we have Byram, with Pelts and Lees that can cover. Left back we have White,Warnock and Drury. Centre backs, we have Lees and Pelts, with Pearce and Kissa deputising. When, in the last 9 years have we have a stronger defence.

Its a good thing too, as I think we have the weakest Midfield, even wqhen we were playing league one.

When we were playing in the third tier of English football we had Snodds on the right wing, with Johnson asd Howson in the middle and Gradel down the otherr wing.

What is our strongest midfield at the moment? Has anyone else been disappointed with Austin?

Who has been our strongest keeper? Ankregen, Kenny, Schmeichel, Lonergan?
Warnock has come out and told Leeds long suiffering fans, that we have a tough month ahead of ourselves “Every game is crucial for us now and we’ve got a tough month ahead so it’s extra disappointing not to have taken anything from Cardiff. We should have something. I hope we don’t play as well at Wolves and win.

“But I don’t see any reason why we can’t play like this away from home now. We turned the corner at Birmingham and we haven’t played away since but we’ll create chances and score goals. We’ve got three away games now which couldn’t come much tougher – Wolves, Middlesbrough then Manchester City in the cup.”

Morning Elland. We're as well playing tougher games as you say Elland. We've recently been stuffed by two teams who were bottom of table at the time. At least if we lose, as on Saturday we can console ourselves by thinking we nearly beat a top team. Congrats to Paul Green on his Ireland call up. I sort of hope he only plays a few minutes though in case of injury. Has been performing ok for us. Thankfully we weren't in Europe lately, so unlike Liverpool we cant be tarnished in the match fixing thing

Morning all - Not sure on the defence, on paper it should be the strongest, our goals conceded suggest otherwise but that could be down to our inability to retain possession in the middle of the park.

Yes Cardiff are top by 10 points but make no mistake about it, they had an off day, a poor game by their standard where we played probably the best we are capable of. We STILL lost and by all accounts we forced there keeper into just two decent saves that he would have been expected to make.

Morning guys. Its like a lottery at the moment, as we can beat top teams and even prem teams, but then let the bottom clubs make us look stupid. Too many seasons recently we've been on the end of some thumpings. No more thumpings please, lets have the opposition worrying about getting hammered instead of thinking they have a chance of battering us. Our goals difference is shocking and its not the first time. Under Grayson we showed relegation form at the back and promotion form at the front. We need to stop leaking now and think we have a defence to do that, but also need to start creating and scoring. We have the players front and back but still seem tame in the middle.

Exactly Eireleeds1 - How does Warnock define a tough month or tough match when we have already lost to the bottom teams. Like Bucks said in another thread, Warnock has been on charge a year now, this is his team now, the T/O is complete there are no more hiding places.

    Morning all <ok>

Kenny is our best GK since Sully IMO. Agree the defence LOOKS good but for some reason isnt perfoming (were used to this though except for a few little good runs at the back) Agree it could be due to the midfield. Green or Tonge in the middle next to Berkley for me, lets give it a go.

El, you got to remember that in L1 although Bradders & snod were stand out, they werent as good as they are now. They both have come on leaps & bounds & are holding there own in the prem. Fair play to them, I never saw that in Bradders but he showed he had the right attitude to make it to the top when he gave his summer up to get himself in shape for the coming season.

    Kenny is better by miles
Defence is decent once he's worked out what his best selections are

Cardiff fans on here suddenly pipe up after they go so far ahead doing my head in

Ross has just pulled out of the Scottish squad with illness, so looks like Morison should be up top if he's fit. Macleish leaves Forest, how unlucky are the trees fans. 2 managers walk within a weeks of taking over, so still underlying problems with the new owners. Maclaren first took his brolly and now this set back

This defence will get better and better. Looked great in last couple of matches, just a couple of slip-ups which were punished. Lees starting to shine, never thought he really had it in him. Let's keep these kids!

And let's look a bit more long term. I have noticed a lot of short-termist views on here lately - (paraphrasing) we must get promoted this year, I give up on Leeds because of the recent Warnock/Bates/GFH stuff, these people are crap because of what happened in the Jan transfer window, I just want to be negative because that is the type of person I am at the moment, we will only get promoted if we are lucky and we would just get relegated again - it's rather pathetic, some of it is arrogant, but mostly it just looks like whingeing and moaning.

Stop feeling so bloody sorry for yourselves.

Oddly, the whingeing and moaning looks no worse than deluded fans thinking we have any chance of getting 35 points from 17 matches to get into a playoff position. Anything less than playoffs this season, for me, will be a failure. Maybe I'm foolishly setting my sights too high and should regards one nil home defeats as something to be thankful for

We are not good enough. Warnock hasn't a clue when it comes to attacking.

Is there any other manager in England that would sell the clubs 10th leading goal scorer of all time with 19 goals so far this season and 18 months left on his contract and replace him with an injured out of form striker and a loan player that has failed on trial wherever he has been? Not just sell him, do so in the January transfer window when you should be looking to strengthen your team not gamble.

The only player consistently scoring goals in an attack that can't seem to score goals...
