Morning Everyone, A six one drubbing at home, a sending off, and our main midfielder out for the season with a suspected double fracture..... These are the things nightmares are made of. Leeds will decide today whether to challenge Pearce's red card. Am I the only one not to rate Rudy that highly. He gave the ball away a lot, along with an awful lot of free kicks in dangerous positions. Paul Green has not started since injuring himself on the opening game of the season. It will be very interesting to see how he or Norris cope with patching up our midfield. Does anyone have stat information comparing last season to this, ie league position, points and goals conceded? Peltier is not as good as I gave him credit for. I wonder whether Warnock would have still bought him, if he had known how Byram would have turned out? Everton are tracking Aidy White. White has been a disappointment this season so far, I say, if a good offer comes in, take it, and spend the money on the current squad. A serious investment will be needed in January. If you had 6m to spend in the January transfer window, who would you buy? With the team having not play well for the last few months, realistically, we can only expect to beat Millwall by a few goals, not 5 or 6 as would normally be expected... Could the takeover happen today? Could we see a new face at Eland Road today?
Would be American millionaire Preston Haskell was quoted as saying he saw Leeds as a "long-term investment opportunity" and paid tribute to Bates and manager Neil Warnock. This appeared in the Sunday Times. It also claimed that Haskell would not want overall control of the club, just investment. This could pave the way for Bates to stay on.
Morning all. A worrying time as a Leeds fan. Don't have the stats but wouldnt mind betting if all our results since last January were lumped into one season, we'd be easily relegated. It really has been an awful twelve months with shocking drubbings home and away. I think, even a GFH takeover may be too late to help. They're ability to fund appears limited and 6 million in my opinion would only scratch the surface of what is needed. I would suggest four or five quality players needed, so 15 million closer to whats required. The other question of course, as others have pointed out is, should Warnock be given that sort of money if he is only staying till June. If we get a large chunk of money, a big if, it may well be the last time and we better have the right manager in place to deal with it
Drury wasn't injured on Saturday just didn't get picked! What a ****ing travesty. Austin was having a good game Saturday we all accept he's not the. Best technically but he's a great player who is tired from not having a break for nearly a year. 6 mill I'd sign Max Gradel Alan judge Chris Taylor Liam Perkins Charlie Austin Eric Lichaj
Green was our best player Sat until he was subbed off and the fans let Warnock know they weren't happy that he got subbed White n Diouf where ****ing woeful varney must start up front n maybe Chris Dawson will get a shot
Morning everyone. Agree with Kissa with the signings, apart from I'd like to maybe get someone like Wes Hoolahan. Not sure how much he is in the current transfer market but he would be a brilliant purchase none the less. Imagine an attacking set up including, Gradel, Hoolahan, Mccormack and Charlie Austin.
Morning all Dont think we can appeal a straight red can we? I thought it was all done and dusted on the pitch unless the ref does something about it himself. Didn't we have something similar with Beckford a few seasons back?
Well considering Hoolahan is probably Norwich's best player and they are in the prem I'd imagine he'd cost a lot. He's actually not very young either All I know is he is a CB and young, apparantly been playing next to Kissa in the Development squad and kissa is showing him the way
CSI LEEDS Three dead bodies turn up at the Leeds mortuary, all with very big smiles on their faces. The coroner calls the police to tell them what has happened. 'First body: Ellandback, Englishman, 40+, died of heart failure while making love to his 20-year old mistress. Hence the enormous smile, Inspector', says the Coroner. 'Second body: Hamish Whitejock, Scotsman, 65, won £50,000 on the lottery. Spent it all on whisky. Died of alcohol poisoning, hence the smile.' The Inspector nodded, then asked, 'What about the third body?' 'Ah,' says the coroner, 'this is the most unusual one. Paddy Eireleeds, Irish, 40, struck by lightning.' 'Why should he be smiling then?' inquires the Inspector. 'He thought he was having his picture taken'.
Thought Hoolahan was younger than thirty to be honest Also thought it was Gimpel playing next to Kissa?
Morning all. Not a great day Saturday, but let's look at some positives. I have had the misfortune of only seeing the highlights on LUTV. I know they try to capture the best bits, but one thing was clear from Saturday. Diouff playing in on-rushing forwards confirmed that we are still creating chances. Some of the build up play didn't look too bad. Varney's finishing was not very good, but at least we were playing some nice stuff & creating chances. Had the early opportunity gone in instead of hitting the post, who knows where we would have ended up. The 6-1 scoreline reflected the fact that we were down to 9 men with our key midfielder missing. Let's hope it isn't as bad as has been suggested. Moving on to Sunday & the 'Wall. We know this will be a hard game. There is a chance that we'll get some players back from injury or back from loans. There's also a chance that we might get one or two in on loan with a view to buying them come January. The squad needs a lift. So let's hope they show the same determination as was the case at the start of the -15 season when we won 5 straight games. I know it's hard, but let's keep the faith & trust Warnock to make the right decisions. He didn't get as many promotions as he has without knowing what he's doing.
Morning All - Austin out for the season - Does it really matter? I mean look at how we are playing and recent results, you can't really say we have a key player at the moment because as a team we are woeful.
Hes very much in the Hoolahan mould, only small and I text him Saturday and he was ****ting himself so not sure hes one to chuck into the deep end but then again look how Byram turned out
Bit to go to 65, but feel much, much older, so perhaps 65 is a good balance . Btw, hate whisky, gotta be vodka. Surprisingly, it's the most popular drink in Scotland. We sell all our whisky to anyone daft enough to drink it.
NOT SURE WHAT MADE ME LAUGH LOUDEST!! T.Cs little joke or Ellandbacks With the team having not play well for the last few months, realistically, we can only expect to beat Millwall by a few goals, not 5 or 6 as would normally be expected... nice try m8
****ing hell I can't wait to lose against you lot next week we will never pissing live it down I might even kill myself
