Good Morning All,A lucky 3-1 win (again), another opposition player sent off, and more goals gifted to us. I'm not complaining, but our luck will run out at some point. Huge mistake by McCartney catching the ball well outside his box, on the back of some awful kicking, and, having quoted in the paper 48 hours previously how he loved his time at Elland Road, special place in his heart etc. Hhhmmmmmm.....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bEFuSFfRniQ highlights of the Leeds victory. Those of you that went to the game, how did Delph do??? Is Townsend as much of a gem as we thought?âSimon Graysonâs player budget was £9.5m for the year. He has so far committed £11.722m, over budget by nearly 23 per cent. Though, he says he is not finished in the transfer market...Tribunal to decide the fate of Andy OâBrien has been set for February 27. Grayson claimed the defender refused to play for the club against Burnley last November. There's a lot more going on behind the scenes there.... Monday dilema. If the fans created another football club in Leeds (with financial backing), and worked there way up the divisions, would you ever consider following this club???
Considering the current state of affairs, I would suggest it may be safe to say that the Leeds fan base across the world is getting lower and lower every season, so time is not on it's side.
Morning Elland, McCarthy had no choice but to catch the ball otherwise it would have ended up in the net. He'd come out of his area to kick the ball clear & his defender headed it powerfully to the side of him. McCarthy took one for his team. We were shocking up till the sending off. Delph was average, lots of energy though & will improve. Townsend was poor when he got on the ball, which wasn't often. Supply to him almost non-existant. White replaced him & looked impressive with his direct runs on the left. Also on the plus side Becchio looked more like his old self when he came on for the disappointing Forssell. White & Becchio both played like they had a point to prove. Great to see them back to their best, particularly Becchio.
Worst first half of football ive ever had to sit through and the Bates Out chants made me feel a million times worse, I thought Sonko was solid for them for the first 70 mins and then I cant describe what the **** happened ive never seen a defence/team self implode in my life why the defender headed it ill never know, I owe becchio a huge apology as soon as he came on he hassle them won headers so I think it was down to him that the defence got uncomfortable
Agreed Kissa. Also, I thought Zac Thompson looked excellent. Always looking to make overlapping runs, loads of energy. Similar to Lichaj.
LIE I though we where lacking in width neither pugh nor Thompson looked to get forward IMO Thompson is decent at Right Back! Makes me laugh though he was signed last year from Everton where he was playing at RB he came to Leeds and we made him change into CM then they chuck him in to the first team at RB poor kids head must be ****ed sums up Leeds United to be honest
Elland on Saturday I wanted to see "the Fors" play because becchio was playing ****, When "the fors" was just as bad I was actually having really bad thoughts of giving Paynter another go because he couldn't do any worse
Its not good that Forssell and Becchio where playing so ****ing bad that Paynter actually came in to my head as a realistic option But Becchio came off the bench Saturday and got his spark back he looked up for it, controlled the ball well (not done that all season) and won headers (not done that all season)
Delph did well. although he appeared to to be playing in a deeper role than normal for him. townsend saw **** all of the ball tbh so couldnt influence the game.
Just watching the highlights, it was fantastic to see Delph back in the team. If only our club had an owner who had the reserve to keep a player who had 3 years left on his contract... From the highlights, Becchio looked back to his former self. 4 goals in 10 starts, considering he hasn´t been fully fit is a decent record. Certainly a much more reliable source of goals compared to Keogh. Hopefully he´ll kick on and form a good partnership to McCormack. The service from midfield hasn´t been there though. Delph, Clayton and Snodgrass should start to provide that. Townsend was great on his debut, but it was obvious then that his final pass was poor. 2 or 3 new signings could make this a quality team. But right now, we´re average. A CB to partner Lees, another CM and possibly a rightback. If the club can actually do some business that doesn´t include freebies and loans before the window closes, bringing in some quality, then I can see us making the playoffs. Then anything can happen.
Last time I saw a team fall apart in such spectacular fashion I was freezing my nuts off watching Preston stick six past us. Couldn't believe it.
