This is the kind of commitment we need from our players, Dobbie is going to be an integral part of our team next season, it's great that his family is behind him and the other lads! http://www.swanseacity.net/page/Latest/0,,10354~2381447,00.html
Ditto on that J. This is exactly the sort of focus and what a player should be doing to meet his ultimate challenge - playing in the best league in the world. It's a shame some of other walk aways don't seem to want to meet that challenge in the same head on way. I have no idea what we're paying this guy, but he stuck with us after his loan with Blackpool and came back, won a place in the starting team and then became pivotal in our final drive to promotion - worth every penny and then some.
Dobbie is a through and through Jack. The eomiton in his face when the final whistle went at Reading showed that. Love the guy.
I've got his name all over the back of my swans shirt. i was over the moon when he got that stunning goal at wembley. I've always loved the way he makes space for himself. most of his goals are from around the 18yrd line. you just don't see him doing 6 yard tap ins. he leaves that for the centre forwards. he's perfectly placed playing just behind the striker. and that tattoo just suits him so well.
most english and welsh take the piss out of the SPL, remember Dobbie came from QOTS, a first division team. good player, on 606 i was one of the few backing him, hope he does well this season (look at charlie adam)
Dobbie's last three moinths of the season was nothing short of spectacular,You could swear he was a totally different player.
Mssive Massive fan of Dobbie! He creates so much space in that holding roll. I still cant believe he stayed with Swansea after having chance of going to Prem with Blackpool And he kicked up no fuss either he just came out in an interview and said he couldnt wait to get started with the Swans Amazing!
Dobbie could well be one of our most important players this coming year, his technique astounded me a few times towards the end of the season, and in my opinion he could be a better version of Trundle.
haha shes not too bad either, not like im handing him a munter or anything haha! Watching the last few games of the season, he's been red hot, been nothing less than sensational to watch, and now with his increasing commitment and positive attitude, could be a binding force for the team, definatly a potential future captain!
Dobbie is relishing his chance to show what he can do in the most watched league in the world, he has always had the talent but will admit himself that he sometimes did himself no favours with his life style. Now he is settled here with a young child he has obviously realised the fantastic chance he has to make a name for himself and I hope all our other players will return to training with similar thoughts. For someone like Ferrie this will be a huge opportunity if only his knee can hold out, he will be desperate to show his fantastic skills and I sincerely hope that this time he won't suffer the agony of another break down otherwise I fear it would be all over for him.
I don't see him as a captain but he's known to be a joker in the locker room (which helps team morale), has shown great form recently and might be the key to unlocking defences next season. I still think he's slow and a bit too inactive for my liking when we're defending (I'm a bit of a perfectionist and want everyone running at full tilt like Dyer for 90 minutes every game ) but he definitely deserves to be a Premier League player and I'm glad it's with us. Good guy, good player, good luck!
18months ago he was farmed out to Blackpool. Got them promoted. Almost left. Last three months of the season he was sensational. I personally think he made Prately's mind up about leaving. He could be a key player next season.
Stephen Dobbie is proof that Paulo Sousa kept us from " Our best finish ever " . If somehow we went from Martinez straight to Rodgers , we might have been up for a season already IMO
