You did everything you needed to do. There must have been a moment of hope when we went a goal down but it didn't last long. It was uncomfortable for a while when you went 2-0 up, knowing that one goal from Southend could cause absolute havoc but in the end Wycombe ran out deserving and comfortable winners. I know all the Wycombe fans will be with me in wishing you success in the play-offs and we'll be cheering for you. Hope to see you in League 1 next season.
our track record against gulls is the problem. 1-1 at home, 5-0 to gulls away. i think we may have to rely on some iffy brixham mackerell for the gulls away. thanks for your best wishes. i suspect accrington may win the play offs or gulls shrews stevenage
i am hoping it is a stanley shrews final, but stanley worry me, they drew 0-0 at shrews a couple of weeks ago, which as it turns out cost us auto promo they may cost us promo by the back door. as for stevenage and gulls both are busted flushes, and are in the playoffs to make up the numbers. we fear no club, bring on the gulls, they drop big parcels of love from the sky, i think it is called the krapton factor, there will be some glum faces in torquay after a week on friday. their manager paul buckle thinks they are going to win the playoffs, gulls may fly or is it pigs. there i think i have stoked the gulls up enough
haha i enjoy the banter,we wont win the play offs anyhow, out of form dried up in front of goal, conceding left right and centre, and robinson on loan from shrewsbury also out of form,a recipe for a shrewsbury cake walk, over to you guys lol
Ah yes, Robinson has he stopped scoring for you yet? He seems to join a new club score loads then it stops. Let's hope we have a great time in the playoffs. Who'd have thought that Shrews fans would have to excuses to travel down to sunny Torquay twice in a season! It was almost going to be Gillingham for about 3 times during last Saturdays game.
he has seriously been out of form, but form ebbs and flows, this game maybe what he needs to re-vitalise him.But whatever, hope you enjoy your stay in the riviera apart from the result that is.Looking forward to coming to your place for the second leg,you have fantastic facilities there,i went to the 1-1 draw earlier in the season, and been to hundreds of games away over the last 40 years and without doubt your staff, stewards and fans are top notch,it was a totally great footballing experience,my mate is disabled and found it humbling how kind your folk were. But all said and done nice or not i hope we kick your butt,in the nicest possible way lol
Kudos(whatever that cool word means) to you mate. That's the spirit. Just gutted i cant make the first leg!
And I know coming 4th's supposed advantage is having the second leg at home but it could be a recipe for disaster- if we go down in the first and are under pressure to deliver in front of a possible bumper crowd it could turn nasty- too many times we've not been able to break teams down at home this season and the frustrations have spilled over
Well we've only experienced play offs as the 7th team, had a bad 1st leg result and then turned over MK and Bury on their grounds. How we'll cope as notional favourites (by virtue of league position) I don't know but, from experience, a draw or narrow win at Torquay will not have me checking Old Trafford travel arrangements. I'm taking nothing for granted!
i love banter on both sides too, just for the record shrewsbury do not have cakewalks, we are renowned for our biscuits, not forgetting jennys pies at the greenhous meadow. gulls 1 shrews3 i am almost beginning to believe this load of old tosh!
how very true, looking forward to going to your fantastic facilities, they are way above league two standard, and i was serious about your clubs hospitality as well, you have had the backing of your council as well, ours dont give a fig.As i said took my wheel chair bound mate to your place,a lift up to disabled terracing and even waitress service for him, brilliant,we even got clearance to go in your social club,i hope to god your defence is as generous over the two legs as your staff were lol
that 5-0 wont happen this time,i think it will be tight over the two legs, probably three or four goals in total, cant see there being a 0-0 in either match ,we both play the pass and attack game, all very exciting but also a bit nervy, and as per usual it will be torture tufc style
Unfortunately, we had to fight the council at every stage and quite understandable nimby protests. We should have had the ground years previously and it was only due to the persistence of our chairmen that we achieved this goal.
i am glad i can now chill out while you lot have all this pressure, good luck to all the sides in the play offs bar stevenage they kick lumps out of you and dont deserve to go up with their dirty and time wasting tactics
and of course you have nicky wroe,on his day a great player, other days anonymous, but lots of players are like that as well,he missed a penalty for us at your place, all said and done he was a good servant to us,but wanted a move.I wouldnt be surprised in the slightest if our game ended in a penalty shootout, just to keep the old blood pressure up and the incontinence pad strapped on
loyal gull i visited the shrews new meadow for the first time a few weeks ago to watch town play stockport. i was immensely proud of the shrews new facilities. i did get pulled up though, quite rightly so when i sauntered out near the pitch with a pint in my hand small wonder the fa use the shrews ground for lesser internationals. it is crying out for L1 and higher football. que sera sera. floreat salopia. coys aab, ctrb bots, pdnftg er please do not feed the gulls
