Alright Naaaaaarwich Just want to say! good luck and all the best this season! out of all the teams last season i was most glad you guys went up! (even if i think you were quite lucky with your last minute goals) i ask but 2 favours of you! 1) Keep Morison on the Bench and 2) make sure you beat QPHA HA HA HA at home and away! Spanks
Thanks for the best wishes, but I do have to disagree on onepoint there. Those last minute goals were not lucky. we carried on till the end of games and often threw on extra attacking players to win games. Why is a goal suddenly lucky because of when it was scored? Doesn't matter if it is the 1st or last minute or anything in between. That said, there is one that springs to mind that had just an element of luck and that was the winner against Derby. Nothing to do with when we scored, more how. Not sure Jackson knew too much about scoring that one. It kind of bounced in off him.
Yes, thanks for the kind words, bigneil, but don't forget a 93rd minute equaliser scored by your lad Marquis, which mugged us of two points at the New Den. Kets and pottles and all that
Thanks for the good luck... But, why ask the favour to keep Morison on the bench? Do you think he'll do a job for us? Liklihood is that he'll be starting alongside Holt on the season opener. What are your expectations for the season ahead, do you think Millwall can have the same impact as last year?
Hi Guys didnt mean the last minute goals as minus! all good teams do it! i just thought it was lucky considering the amount of games you did it in. Morison ... i dont think he will be as good a player in the Prem and doubt he'll score many goals! i hope for your sake its not the case. Morison on a good day would get 6 one on ones a game and only score one every other game! which by championships standards is a good tally but he wont have those oppurtunities against prem teams. his vision is superb (which in the championship got him goals) his touch is ok his finish is actually very poor for a striker as to us making an impact? i dunno, i think were a very strong team i dont think losing Moro will have the impact people think, Marquis is a great striker and will score goals and Mcquiod can bang in a goal from 30yds henderson if fit is a right handful and creates space for other. so only time will tell! how do you think you lot will get on in the big bad premier league?
thankyou for your kind words,I hope millwall do well this season maybe make the playoffs, back to Norwich why we scored so many goals we never gave up until the end so it can not be luck but i bet alot of teams got fed up with us scoring at the end.
Surely the fact that we did it so often points to it not being luck, more the fitness levels, tactic of chasing the win (adding more strikers) and most importantly the never say die attitude and self belief? As for Morison, I have not seen him yet but reports so far all seem positive so we will have to wait and see. I would like to see Millwall do well. Never had anything against them. There are lots of sides I'd like to see finish below them in the Champ. I think we will finish around the 12th to 15th mark personally.
Ageed. The regularity for which we executed it indicates surely that luck was an insignificant factor; it was purely strategical, emphasised by the sheer amount of attacking players we usually utilise in the final minutes (further evidenced also by the majority of our goals that have come in the last 15 minutes of games during Lamberts entire tenure here). As for luck, Millwall's equaliser at the Den was comparitively the embodiment of that (mistakes galore from the defenders for the unwitting Millwall player, though more importantly from the linesman).
