Huge game for Wilfried on Saturday night in the first leg of the World Cup play-off against Senegal. At least it's one game for him to play as opposed to some of the European internationals who face two so he can rest up after travelling to Abidjan.
Obviously hope he can come through it unscathed and get some rest in before returning with a brace against Sunderland at the Liberty!! fingers crossed!

Burkino Faso and Ethiopia have chances to qualify for the first time.

No equatorial countries or below are left.
Not surprising really. Only 3 of the 13 countries to ever qualify fall into that category.
    Zaire, S Africa, and Angola.

Very true!..I fear Ethiopia will find Nigeria too hard to overcome but Burkina Faso have a real chance against Algeria.
Lord knows how Ghana and Egypt managed to be seeded separately but that makes for another absoloutley massive fixture!

I'll be amazed if Egypt don't qualify. The country will be in mourning for weeks if not.

Good luck Bony indeed. It would be great to see Swansea against the players' names in the World Cup. May have players in the Netherlands and Spain squads as well.

    How good are Senegal nowadays?

(slightly O/T but Iceland and Jordan can still qualify for the first time (Venezuela also in theory)

Senegal are far from the team that caught the imagination in 2002 world cup so we should be seeing bony on the big stage next year. So true about iceland I just noticed the other day how good a position they are in. Would be great to see gylfi in Brazil too!
