Brave man to admit anything like that, though I personally suspected there were a few demons in the background that affected his personality.

Brave man indeed. But he's taken the first step to recovery by admitting there's a problem. Many don't get that far.

He's a very driven and determined person who sadly isn't always able to channel his energy in positive ways.

I have a lot of admiration for him on speaking out and for having the courage to walk away from a good role in the game.
This could conceivably put other prospective employers off hiring him in future but ultimately he has to do what's right for himself in the moment.

Hope he can get himself back on track and be at peace with his own mind ASAP.
