Carl Fletcher says that Guy Madjo was a good pro and worked hard.....but even though Argyle's problem has been scoring goals Madjo was rarely in the team and often not even on the bench.

I find it hard to believe that a striker would be out of favour just because he didn't defend well enough........the rumour was that he was a bit of a bad boy and he was out because of poor discipline off the pitch........but Fletcher said he was a "good pro" so what can you make of that.

Darren Purse has said in an interview that he doesn't want to leave Argyle...he likes playing here and enjoys being captain.......but Fletcher has told him he has to go because he needs to free up money because of the transfer window.

The danger there is that the defence could become worse, Purse isn't the only defender who has had a poor season, saving money yet not improving performances is not a benefit to Argyles league status.

No but there are these things called "administration" and "liquidation" that happen to you if you spend more than you earn.

Surprised you haven't heard of them.

Its all a pantomime! Don't worry Plym Brent won't spend any money.. He is here for the other bits he picks up.. on the cheap. No different than any of the others who have been involved before...

Whilst I don't disagree with your statement joe I wonder if we would miss Purse that much. I'm still very sceptical about Brent and his dealings and the nagging doubt about his motives won't go away. Purse though hasn't had what you would call a great season. He has played better lately but you wonder how much of that is being on the transfer list and trying to prove a point rather than he is trying harder because he wants to be better. Watching him sometimes he doesn't look exactly flat out but could be one of those deceiving players who does what he needs to do without it looking great. If he is on twice the wages of the rest then I suppose he is the likely candidate to get off the payroll. The Administration and Liquidation thing is a red herring in my book. The simple fact is that Brent COULD if he wanted to sort out the club with a modicombe of loss from his pocket. Simple fact is he chooses not to put his hand in his although he still expects others with a lot less wealth to continue to do so. Given his wealth, if he lost a million would he suddenly be in the queue for food parcels? Course not he has quite a few more million to fall back on. He isn't going to though is he so in the end it is down to selling what little class we have and cutting costs to a bare minimum.

Ok, he did acquire the club as there was no others waiting to buy it? as we keep getting told. But surely now he has it, why not build it up? he did say he was going and wanted us in the champion ship, i think that is and was BULL to get everyone on his side. I feel now people are starting to realise that he is not all he said he is or will do anything. Yes Purse has played ok lately but as you say Sensible, possibly as he is going and wants to attract another club. His wages will be higher than all others. Fletcher says about signing players in the January sales? What money is available?

I see Moseley has stayed on loan until Jan 1st so I hope he is one we keep and sign. It maybe that anyone we get in won't be for a fee and that it is purely on the wage bill that we sign them. We could probably get 2 for the price of Purse. I doubt we have any money to splash on buying that's for sure.

    One more time.

You need have no doubts at all about Brent's motives. He didn't want the football club and only bought it for the property deals. Stop accusing him of it, you are wasting your time, that is EXACTLY what he IS doing.

There is no incentive to build the club up. Unless a football club is in the Champions' League, it won't make money. Any increased income is eaten up by higher player wages to achieve & sustain the higher level. Outside the top handful, there's hardly a club in the country that makes money in any league.

I'd suggest none of us would voluntarily throw away £1m. For a successful businessman like Brent who's been living with investment appraisals & business cases for years, the idea of putting any money into a venture that's doomed never to pay back is even more ridiculous - it's almost a tenet of faith not to do it. If he has money to give away, he'll give it to charity, not a failing commercial business.

This is NOT being pro-Brent. It's being realistic rather than wilfully trying to see something else that isn't there and never was.

That said, Brent is making an effort to make the club self-sustaining and to bring the fans into its management through the supervisory board and the chance to take part ownership. Perhaps there are things which some don't like in these proposals but better to get involved in it and make the best of it than to hold out for a hopeless dream.

Brent never bought the club did he? i am not clear on that.
Why did he take it on if there is no incentive? Just for the other property deals he could get for helping out the council?
    We will never know?
