Firstly, a good advert for lower league football and for Bristol football in general. JET's goal was superb and so was Joe Bryan's. He was excellent and should have been man of the match, not JET. Rovers were poor first half, but well organised so we kept it to 1-0 at half time when it could have been much worse. We just didn't have any attacking intent apart from a couple of powder puff attempts from Clarky. Second half there was very little to show between the teams, Rovers carried far more threat and midway through the half it could have gone either way. We deserved our goal and kept the Teds pretty quiet. The main difference between the teams was the extra quality that money can buy. Overall, I'm pretty damn happy that we competed well against a team with the likes of Shorey, JET, Harewood, Baldock etc. We need that cutting edge in the final third, but we will do well this season without a doubt. Ward is an excellent manager who has the team organised well. I'm slightly disappointed that we didn't start the first half as well as we did against York and Northampton, but City are clearly a good team and on the balance of play deserved their win. Overall an excellent advert for Bristol football, only marred by the Ted cretins at the end clearly after a fight. Shameful twats.
Joe Bryan is going to be fantastic player in the future, plays with both feet and for a little un good in the air and not afraid to tackle. He comes from a sporting family apparently his brothers are both good Rugby players only playing local rugby, but my mate plays in the same team and says they could both do well when they fill out a bit. One can kick the ball from one 22 yard line to the other. Their sister is good at athletics as well. Their old man is my mate thinks a brain surgeon something like that but high up, so invested in the kids. And I agree my MOM.
may i just point out that i thought the ref had a good game. no complaints from me. gave a couple of harsh handballs against harewood which were accidental. pack should have got a yellow for his high foot challenge but he fouled straight after so got a yellow anyway. apart from that he was fine.
