http://www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news/article/sph-quiz-1922856.aspx I went along last year and it was a really good evening. Besides about sixty or more fans there were players and directors too. They were allocated to teams. I'm going along. There are teams of 3/4/5 but if you just turn up it's easy to join a team or form a team on the night. A good evening helping a deserving cause.
A good evening....getting on for 100 people there. Credit to Tom Lockyer, Jake Gosling and Daniel Leadbitter for attending, as well as directors Ed Ware and BSS. No final figure given, but must have raised over £1,000 for St Peter's Hospice. (Jon, Mark and I came a respectable 5th!)
The supporters club tweeted this comment this morning "Thanks to @Bristol_Pirate for another superb Charity Quiz Night. @Official_BRFC fans raised over £900 for @stpetershospice" Bristol_Pirate by the way is the twitter account for Kirsty.
In fairness we would have won if Mark didn't pull rank and insist on changing myself and P49's answers which obviously were all correct! Can only agree, it was a really good night and a terrific attendance, well done all concerned.
5th?! For God's sake man, you're an educator! I wish I could've gone. I met Roger and Pat on numerous occasions as Pat's best mate was our next door neighbour when we lived in Cam - Roger was a right good laugh and Pat is lovely. Next year P49, I shall plan ahead and come and join you Mark and Jon (if you'll have me). I am a quiz geek and I'll bloody well make sure we won't come 5th!
