One of the best IMO was A&M Hessle road opposite Pickering Road.
Will never forget that place John. Went to Kingston HS in the late 50's-mid 60's. 1 shilling dinner money, 5 Park Drive and 3 penneth of chips at the chippy at the end of Pickering Road was a daily occurrence. Didn't remember the shop's name - but my only remaining school mate in Hull still live directly opposite where the chippy was on the corner of Hessle Rd & Pickering Road. I do recall eating the chips & smoking the cigs in the shelters in Picky Park - it was always raining it seems !
