The Miracle of Castel di Sangro is a good read for a holiday.

    As is The Damned United.

Once in a lifetime - the story of the NY cosmos
Forza italia - Paddy Agnew a northern Irish journalist's view of Italian footie having covered it from 1981.
Football against the enemy (Simon Kauper)

    Would highly recommend all 3.

It's prety in depth for lazing by the pool, but I guarantee it would teach even the most knowledgeable fan quite a bit about how football has changed over the years.
