These players will be part of the squad this season.

    Kelly
    Carragher
    Ayala
    Robinson
    Coady
    Aquilani

    Insua
    Carroll
    Henderson
    Kyrgiakos
    Kuyt

These players are just not good enough and need to be moved on other than Wilson.

    Poulsen
    J.Cole
    Wilson (Not this season)
    N'Gog <yikes>

Not sure what your top list is..if it was just fringe players I could understand but you have the likes of Carragher,Carrol,Downing and Adam in there but no Gerrard,Suarez etc.
Of that top list only Ayala and Wisdom would be a question for me but only because i have rarely seen them play.Bottom list pretty much spot on.

I heard Rangers want to buy Wilson back. He's not going to be what we need right now so maybe we should take the cash while we're spending.

I'm still not convinced Joe Cole can't return to form. I remember the excitement we had when we heard we'd signed him because we knew what he's capable of and he's a flair player. Last season was hardly typical of him. It didn't look right at all when he was playing for the reserves.

I remember Pat Nevin showing how Cole had been told to play negatively by Hodgson against his natural instincts. That period really dented his reputation and probably his confidence, then being last minute sub for Kenny was hardly a chance to find himself again.

I know what you mean about Wilson, just seems a waste to seem him leave again. Then again, with so many other CBs coming through will there be room for him?

I know what you mean about Cole, I saw flashes of it today and I think with some match fitness and perhaps a bit more gametime he'll slowly get back there.

I've got a soft spot for chubby Joe, we know what he's capable of and I'd dearly love him to find it again. If we can afford his wages I'd like to give him a season to try and make it.
I'm finding it increasingly difficult to find a spot for Wilson- I thought he looked shaky when we played him last season and he still doesn't seem to be finding his feet. Perhaps we could loan him back to jockland if there is still potential in him but I'm having doubts.
I agree with the rest of the bottom list- including both Poulsons.

I would like to see the Joe Cole that got sent off against Arsenal, stupid over the top challenge, but at least the game seemed to matter to him.

I would like to see the back of J. Cole. I know he was a free so "previous" owners thought it was a deal, same with Milos, but turns out the wages make up for more than half of that. I am sorry, the baby excuse is just not enough, I know of plenty of people with children that do their job to the max. Oh and he doesn;t work 9-5 FFS!!!! he goes in for a few hours and the kicks back. Take a nap or two man! rant over.

Looking forward to the rest of the pre-season games as it should have all of the names in it, bar gerrard.

I think that unless we get a good offer for him i would like to see him have 1 more season, last year was a poor year for a variety of reasons.Started off badly against Arsenal and never improved.A fit and on form Joe Cole would be a benefit for any side but I just dont know if he has it in him.Great if he has though.

If it were me,I would put Kyriagkos into that list and just release him next summer,he only cost £1.5 million anyway. Its not like he cost £17 million like cough Hargreaves cough.

I don't recall anybody claiming it was *all* because of the baby and that was enough of an excuse. I've never known anybody with a kid who also did their job to the usual standard and wasn't affected by it.

We all know he's had a poor season. The fact it was poor as compared to previously - £10 says you weren't saying all this last summer - is why some think he can still deliver something. Maybe he won't, maybe he's too old, but his wage level has nothing to do with his performances.
