A bit long but worth reading. http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...to-make-the-bench-at-loftus-road-9070727.html As the occasional absurdities of modern football go, there are few better tales than that of Julio Cesar: first-choice goalkeeper for Brazil, third-choice for Queenâs Park Rangers and not even on the bench for the visit of Huddersfield Town on Saturday. In fact, Cesar has not been on the bench once this season. The clubâs reserve goalkeeper has been Brian Murphy, a 30-year-old from Waterford who numbers among his former clubs Peterborough, Swansea and Ipswich Town â none of whom he played for very much â over the course of a 10-year career during which he was only ever a regular in his time at Bohemians in the League of Ireland........
It's a good article that explains fully the absurdities pertaining to QPR in recent years. It's also something that 'grips my ****' not only with our club but in modern football in general. This is another example that Mark 'Sparkless' Hughes should be brought to account and answer for.
Good read Flyer. This mystifies me, only conclusion can be that he doesn't care that much about playing for Brazil, or indeed anybody. You have to assume that his failure to find somewhere else to play can only be down to money - perhaps he's wasted all the millions he has already earned, or perhaps his family love London so much they refuse point blank to go anywhere else. I'm also guessing that the club has been pretty bloody minded in refusing to loan him to others who don't want to pick up a massive chunk of his wage bill. Reports from as far back as November say we are happy to let him go for free, clearly its his wage demands that are putting others off. No winners in this as far as I can see.
Its TF and Beard that should get the heat for it. Its the managers job to try and get everyone he wants, its the owner and Beards job to run the club in a responsible way and say no to the managers nutty requests. Signing Cesar 2 weeks after signing Green was insane. Still, Hughes was and will always be a prick.
I can fully understand your anguish and sentiment. The fact that TF and Beard are extremely astute minded business people whereas I'm not. But as a layman, and as I understand it is that every business venture should adopt and have in place an exit strategy. Clearly not the case here.
Anyone know if that Kia guy is still involved as an agent because in many ways that's where we came unstuck with Hughes looking to buy players who were with the same agent as himself......surely a conflict of interest if ever there was one..... Regarding Cesar, the article puts in the wider public domain what has been said on here since the start of the season and now readers can be left to make up their own minds as to how to view him. Have to say that he doesn''t come out of the article very well, made to look as if he has no interest in playing, only here to pick up easy money. If he wants to play in WC he has to move on as afterall this is likely to be his last chance of playing in te WC as by the time of the next one he will be late 30's and no doubt Brazil will have found a replacement keeper.
Yup, Kia is still Cesars agent...sorry advisor. In theory, Kia could have made Hughes a wealthy man for signing all those players we didnt need.
