A good result away from home, I did say in one of my earlier posts that there will be a lot of gritty games early on which could go a goal either way. This is a big win for us considering we haven't won away for ages. If anyone says well it was only Donny then I think they need to realise that the keep moat is a difficult place to go and if you want to go back to the premier league these are the kind of games you need to go to and grind out a result, which we did. Changing the subject a bit I would like to see the Scott Parker issue resolved as much as I love him as a player, judging by the comments made from Alardyce and the chairmen I think they expect Parker to have been snapped up by now, I think it's unsettling the team and sooner resolved the better.
Well done Hammers, your team does need to step it up a bit or you could end up in the fight at the bottom of the table. On todays performance I fancy our chances at your place when we get our players back. I'm glad we managed to give you a game today and with a striker maybe we could have won it, still with 10 players in the sick bay we can't expect too much. Good luck for the rest of the season and I hope Koby does you a favour and goes to support Chelsea.
looking at the stats should wake the hammers up a bit, we scored with our only shot on target, against a 'small' club with most of it's first XI injured.
I've found a few words written about the match from a neutral fan who was at the match, he's a Chelsea fan. He doesn't think West Ham deserve the 3pts. http://extra-time.co.uk/topic/10544-doncaster-rovers-v-west-ham-utd/
That is the problem in this league, as soon as you think the opposition is not too good you come unstuck. Cardiff have had upsets for the past five seasons and we are only just getting used to it. The worry is that once West Ham start finding their feet they will run away with one of the auto spots leaving it a lot harder for that second place.
Didn't Nolan hit the crossbar then? And from what I hear green only had one shot to save as well as coppinger heading just wide. We haven't won since march so there's no need to be negative.
hitting the bar doesn't constitue a shot on target because it was a not a shot in between the width of the goals but just off it so it counts as a shot off target.
I've noticed a lot of the reports of the game were very biased towards you but we have got used to it over the last 4 years. It was one of those games of 2 halves West Ham had the better of the play in the first half and Donny had more of the play in the 2nd. According to the BBC we had more possession and more shots on target but I think it was fairly even. You managed to convert your shot on target into a goal, we didn't and you won the game so no gripes from Donny. Well done and good luck. I hope we have our 1st team players back fit for the return match and reverse the result
that has been our problem for over a season now, games of 2 halves. I was personally hoping we won 2-0 with a goal in each half, but sadly it was the usual great in 1st half, nervous in the 2nd, still a win is a win, the nervousness will hopefully fade with good results and maybe we can sit back and enjoy 90 mins instead of enjoying 45 and being like a virgin on her wedding night for the next 45.
