Check this article out - well thought out piece on who we might be targetting.

The 4 potentials they think are most likely are:

    -Youssef El Arabi, Caen
    -Emmanuel Riviere, Saint-Etienne
    -Jose Salomon Rondon, Malaga
-Nolan Roux, Brest (would be good if only to revive the No-no, no-no-no-no, 2 unlimited chanted)

Anyone know much about these players?

From a bit of research I like the sound of Rondon - young, and good goals/game ratio. Seems higly rated.

someone mentioned him the other day and it looked like there is no way Malaga would sell him,so i'd count him out

-Youssef El Arabi - 17 goals in 38 games and 8 assists. Not too shabby. We just have to hope he would have the attributes to step up to the EPL though.

-Emmanuel Riviere - 8 goals in 34 apps. Seems ****e. No thanks.

-Jose Salomon Rondon - 14 goals in 29 apps in the arguably more difficult La Liga. Big strong fella too. Could adapt well here.

-Nolan Roux - 21 goals in 53 apps in a bit of a crap Stade Brest team (almost got relegated 10-11). Could work well. Difficult to know without seeing how his goal to app ratio was in the latest season.

I want Welliton 100000%. 52 goals in 84 apps for Spartak Moscow.

Havent heard or seen this Riviere guy and i cant see Malaga, with their new owners, selling Rondon unless they forked out mega money to sign someone else first.

As for the other two, theyre actual realistic targets rather than ones the odd person throws up here and there.

Youssef El Arabi is up for sale and Caen were about to sell him to Genoa for £5million a couple of weeks ago. Im not sure what broke down. He's a great player, although he's another one we'd lose for a while isnt he? Would be nice to go along side Marveaux and Ben Arfa though.

As for Nolan Roux, he's also for sale and the club want €7 million for him. Shalke 04 are currently trying to bargain with Brest, but putting real low offers in currently. Id much rather pay that much for him rather and anything over 5 million for shane long...

Thanks for the info! You obviously keep your ear to the ground.

That's why I liked this article, as it wasn't just people throwing in random names of foreigners they'd like nufc to sign, they seemed more thought out and realistic.

Pardew mentioned looking at players who "are available" so if those 2 are for sale that's make sense. Why do you say El Arabi is a great player? What have you seen of him?

Out of all those I've seen a bit more of Riviere. Got no chance of getting him though, being tracked by most of Europes big guns. I wouldn't place too much emphasis on his scoring record. of the games I've caught he seems to play out wide a fair bit? They often tout him as the new Henry and expect him to end up as a striker at some point. Rondon certainly has the best record given it's been acheived in spain. I like Rodellega (mispelt I know!) and think he is the sort who if we got him here, would get a boat load.

Aye Sanchino knows quite a bit about him and he was saying there's no chance. Shame really, he'd be my first choice.

    El Arabi. <ok>

I mentioned him about a month ago, think this was the first time he'd been mentioned. It was the same with Ba and look what happened there. The crystal ball is on form. :D

Bryan Ruiz goalscoring record is awesome!!! I've heard good things about him too.

El Arabi would be a good player for us, as would Rodallega. Not entirely convinced by Long, he has only had one good season and is horribly overpriced.
