I'm not, it's just that this thread is now blocked in work, and on my works laptop


Add that to the fact that my home computer has thrown a hissy fit and I have had to recycle an old computer then thats why I haven't been on much lately.........rumours of my demise have been greatly exagerated

Whats up with your home pc mucca

 

I was just checking my e mails, and I had a windows must close down message, it closed down and when I restarted, I'd lost the internet, tried to re install the internet and it told me there were no drivers on the computer to install the internet, and obviously I can't download them with no drivers.............I've tried to download the drivers from this computer to my ipod and then reinstall them, but no joy so far.........anyone got any suggestions?

Yep the only date available is the one it crashed, can't get to a date before that

 

Try getting the drivers from your pc makers website..download them to a stick or your ipod start your pc in "Safe" mode and try installing from ther then shut down and start in normal mode..Start in safe mode by starting up and continuously tap f8 and screen image will enlarge from the normal view.to get out of safe mode tap f8 untill an option screen comes up and select "Normal" ..best of luck

 

Were there any cds in the box when you bought the pc? If yes then you can reinstall, if not you would have been prompted to create a back up disc which you should be able to reinstall. Otherwise I fear it may be a visit to the pc doctor and that may cost

 

try uninstalling the adapter in Device Manager, then 'scan for any hardware changes' Windows will detect the adapter and if the drivers are anywhere on your system, Windows should locate and automatically re-install them. Works for both Ethernet or Wireless adapters. Failing that... do what bongo said if you don't have the recovery discs

 

I 'it it wiv an 'ammer that hasn't worked..............so I guess I'll have to try this clever stuff now.
