Its like deja vouz all over again for Gomis imo .My theory is Gomis came here in the first place after being told Bony would be leaving during the same transfer window .Bony stayed and Gomis rode the bench though.Fast forward to this transfer window . Gomis probably has no intention of waiting to see if Bony is leaving to see if hes going to play regularly .Especially after the last League game where Gomis finally starts ahead of Bony .Bony comes on late to save the day and critisizes Monk after the game for not starting him.How would you feel if you were Gomis .Bony wants Champions League games , Gomis just wants games as the transfer window shrinks.Sell Bony early and maybe Gomis will stay , otherwise imo.
We're going to get stories like this throughout January its inevitable as the press needs to feed. I do believe though, that we are being targeted. The reports about us in the press bare no comparison in frequency or content intensity when compared to reports written about any other club in the Prem, with the exception of Arsenal Imo. Conspiracy Vs Paranoia, discuss??
No no and no. He has to stay as bony's backup until august - with bony going to anc he will get premier league games.
or sell both and get.. Adebayor & lasse vibe?? Or I wonder how arouna kone is doing in everton cos he was class for wigan
My conspiracy theory. Gomis expected Bony to leave in the summer as did Monk and HJ. Bony stays, Gomis doesn't deliver the goods immediately so Bony keeps his place. Once he's signed an extension Bony finds he Gomis is getting more game time (not a lot but more). Wilf is dropped a couple of times towards the end of the year and doesn't get the outright accolade of being top scorer in 2014. When we looked like getting a European place Wilf was happy to stay but we have dropped down the league. Wilf looks increasingly cheesed off - press continue to speculate on his future and when he joins up with Ivory Coast meets Champions League players and decides he wants some. In the mean time HJ again makes noises he is available at the right price. Bafe realises he's not going to be first choice and asks for a transfer, Monk gives him more time but this hacks off Wilf and doesn't impress Bafe. At 29 Bafe realises he doesn't have many years left at the top level and asks for a transfer - if he goes he's happy, if he stays he's still looking over his shoulder and Wilf's return. All speculation What I have seen though, is Bony and Gomis both looking very unhappy. Wilf's face during the Liverpool game was not one of a happy player and even after scoring twice in the FA Cup Bafe looked less than thrilled
Its a perfect storm for selling assets for us .We are almost safe 1already , top teams in England and Europe are ready to start a bidding for Bony , Bony wants European Football , hide between the lines all you want , he wants a bigger club.As for Gomis and Shelvey , teams want them and I believe they want a new start elsewhere .Gomis because he wants gametime , Shelvey because he wants ro play in a Siggy type position and not forced to play away from his strengths .
I really don't want to lose Wilf but there comes a time when you have to admit the right thing to do is allow the player to achieve (or at least be in a position to achieve) his potential. Maybe the time is right for Wilfried - we won't be competing in European games any time soon so perhaps it is time to say we've loved having you and good luck. If he goes I hope it is to the continent, I don't want him coming back to haunt us. Without Bony, Bafe is a must to stay IMO but again if he's not in the right frame of mind is it worth keeping him? A t 29 his value is not going to rise. I wouldn't be shedding a tear in Jonjo goes. Any money for these would be available for brining in new players (I assume we don't need to keep much, if any, back). £million 25 for Bony, 4 for Jono and 5 for Gomis would be a healthy war chest to reinvest.
That was sort of intentional. (as with Jonjo, something's not quite right). But I might have to re-think that, along with, 'Alan Tate, everyo thinks he's a legend'.
The biggest reason for our success is our " Buy low ,sell high " adadude .How many other smaller clubs have made 15 million £ profit each of the last few seasons and still finished in the middle of the table .Lets sell and find some more " Monteroof" type players .Or grab a couple of great" Freebies" like Gomis and Fab .A good eye is worth its weight in gold in this league and theres a sucker born everyday when it comes to other tesms..
L'Equipe will make up stories just like any other paper and it is silly season in January. Unless a paper uses direct quotes from an agent or player I tend to take all this with a pinch of salt don't you? Over the years haven't we had press reports of Williams having a medical somewhere (QPR?) and Pratley at Forest. The day I believe the press is the day I believe hubby when he says he's working late.
