Apparently Octopus boy says he might stay because things have changed. Does he think the new boss might say, you're not that bad you can have your old job back? Bloody hope not!
I was under the impression his contract is up this summer, and Levy hasn't been in any hurry to sort this out...
I still think Gomes actually concedes about the same number of soft goals as Friedel - but somehow Friedel doesn't get blamed when he is glued to his line whereas Gomes always makes sure it looks like a horrendous mistake.
As I've said before - inate ability is priceless, everything else can be coached. Unfortunately managers like Redknapp and his so-called coaching team never seem to do any coaching (at least none that is apparent from watching the performances, where the players make the same sort of mistakes, week after week).
I'm with PowerSpurs on this one, especially as the Brazilian's out of contract, so we couldn't make any money on him.
spot on this is PS.....exactly why it looks worse with Gomes....and i think the new man sees this also....and i believe this new man is having an input and is advising Levy. im enjoying what looks like an intresting poject.
Don't agree that Gomes concedes only the same number of soft goals as Friedel, but no stats to support that feeling. However, I think we all agree that what Brad has brought is the calmness and consistency that was lacking with Gomes. Our defence certainly doesn't look as fretful..... That alone is worth it's weight in gold.
this i would agree with..out of the 2 i would have Friedel between the sticks ...but i did think he was hesitent and that led to a few avoidable situations..but like you say..his calming influence is irreplaceable.
funny,i was thinking along the same lines, park's was brought in to coach him,and -no inprovement, get rid of him
hold on lads, gomes is in the spurs history books for the clean sheet record, along with ian walker, two giants of the game, they deserve more respect, especially gomes as to send him to newcastle is below the belt!
