edit - the misprint is due to me initially typing 'cock-up'
Just a break from the current silliness.

I am sure we all know that the season begins next weekend -- and it's as well that we are 'away' from home ! -- otherwise we may not get anyone from the East of Kent getting to the game if it had been at home!

I am sure ( am I? ) that people know of the chaos caused by the roadwoks on the M2.
I have taken Mrs.A to visit family in the Canterbury and Faversham area over the last 3 weeks - and have seen, at first hand, the nightmare for motorists.

A large chunk of the M2 ( affecting traffic from east of Brenley, will be closed on Saturday - and the alternative WILL CAUSE A MAJOR HEADACHE - AND ADDITIONAL H O U R S onto the journey.

People - please be advised !

It was only a matter of time before the stupidity of constant road changes were going to cause absolute mayhem....and it didn't disappoint. It just happened that when they started the roadworks, the alternative route also was guess what....delayed by road works!

Dare I bother to ask what bunch of idiots organised all this, as the local authorities and KCC are already backing tracking on the original plans, shame they waited until red rum had already bolted or was he kidnapped.

Anyway, it goes well beyond all this and more due to road changes over the last decade, which now as soon has anything happens on the M2 causes bedlam. At one time you could drive from the Medway Towns (after Chatham) right through most towns on route to Faversham/Canterbury and beyond, without coming across a single traffic light junction or roundabout, but now our roads are plagued with them. Constantly sitting at red, because something might come out the junction! Use the A2 as a diversion, and those same traffic lights cause congestion to infinity and beyond (Toy Story).

Which leads me to ask, when big road diversions like this are supposedly planned a head, why don't they also change the traffic signals to give more priority to the diverted traffic. Afterall local residents are more than likely to know alternative routes, the diverted traffic do not.
