Just something I have been thinking about recently, and dunno if anyone agrees, but I think LCFC are going for completely the transfer targets and overlooking what is really needed for promotion from this league! If you cast your minds back to when city were a prem team and were successful there was always a certain outlook to the team which I believe is a big man up top. The glory days ALWAYS consisted of little and large up top whether it was Heskey/Brian Deane and of course Les Ferdinand.

Anyway yesterday was **** and all of the targets so far have been players similar to nugent... which just isnt going to work!! look at west ham who brought in carew, last year qpr had helgusen this league just cannot be conquered with a player like nugent (who reminds me of hume very much but a much better finisher) who is gonna run his socks off for 90 minutes and try and create for himself. We have so many good poachers/players that can feed off a big man.

Yesterday against barnsley it was frustrating seeing cross after cross being cleared or 20-30 passes in their half and nothing on the end of it, because there is no presence in the box.... who can possibly be the target?? Nugent/King/Danns not known for the aerial/physical presence. Against a lot of teams in the championship they are going to get men behind the ball and counter attack just as barnsley did yesterday and fair play to them it paid off. I feel the only way forward now for city is bringing a right winger in, play dyer on the left and a big man up top with nugent so other players can feed off. I WOULNDT MIND US FINDING ANOTHER JOEY GUDJONSSON TO SIT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PARK WITH KING/DANNS TOO (wellens is past his peak needs to be a backup now)

Lets see how many mindless wums read through this essay.... gonna show who the losers with nothing better to do with their time are :smiley-finger007:

We need a creative spark in the midfield and wings, desperately.

Kebe had a great game yesterday and the WBA pair of Thomas and Dorrans would do wonders.

No point in pussy footing around, get it done.

10 new outfield players perhaps.... Seriously though the defence is fine but needs back up, Nugent needs someone good enough up front and the midfield needs a complete new look about it.

Having looked up about Jerome Thomas it seems he's getting starts for West Brom. Weird, he's been severely under the radar. I didn't think he was anywhere near Hodgson's plans.

but the point im making is despite the result yesterday we dominated the game in their half they had 3-4 counter attacks and that is it the midfield is capable of keeping the ball and moving it around but everytime pelts/konchesky/gally and dyer had the ball on the flank there was no target in the box... well apart from nugent and like i said the problem could be simply solved with a les ferdinand like player in the box... even bruno on his day would be ideal in that role. Watching the game yesterday everyone was bangin on about dyers form but by the end of the game it was just criticism. Im gonna put a target on my head here but i dont believe the mass changes everyone is calling for is the answer its just a big target man up top with nugent that will put in the graft. I mean no disrespect to barnsley but there midfield was nothing special yesterday and they put 2 in!! 2 yes 2 strikers supporting each other is the way to pick up the points in this league. Mark my words if we get the right striker in to play with nugent we will be bangin em in!!!
