Now us on here have plenty to say about various players and their weaknesses or non-contribution to the team effort and what appears in newspapers that is more often then not attributed to their unhappiness or criticism of the club, but I have just had a look at a recording of the Palace game to confirm whaqt I thought I saw live at the time and when Gomez' goal went in GP turned to the dugout and AJ had the biggest grin on his face and good eye contact with GP and on the pitch Wickham had a huge grin too. Same said for Jozy when the last went in. I guess the moral is that the team care just as much we do and take defeats every bit as hard as we do, just goes to show newspaper and other reports as 1% accurate in talk of dressing room disharmony.
Win bonus. Proves nowt. Connor has no respect whatsoever for the club, that is clear, AJ always has had, he's benched for a reason, and we could probably hazard a guess that is comes in pints.
It does annoy me that Wickham looks pissed off when he is played out wide, but I believe it's because he knows he is better in the middle which he showed at the end of last season...
He came out and said though that he likes playing wide left mate. It was the lack of interest on Monday that enraged me, every time we lost ball he was stood hands on hips, and when he loses it, which is often, no effort to reclaim it. Lets park that though, I fancy another 3 points Sunday
Took it as I have more years to look back on than forward to, but that aside and accepting that some footballers react as they do we rarely know what is going on and being fed by uninformed opinion and rumour like the possible one about AJ and booze I contribute to Premier League Pass and I can go back over games looking for things that contribute most to our performance and two of our goals came from long cross-field passes to a man in space which is something that has been missing from our game lately. It helps to pass the time and give me hope.
A Great post! I can't imagine any team not caring about their results. I've played pub pool for almost 40 years and the same thing applies, you care about the result. Even if you're not happy about your status within the team, you care about the result, as it reflects on you as a member of that team. Even if Wicks wants to go, just as an example, he'd still want to leave on a high note.
