Youngster Jordan Goddard has signed a 1 year contract today.

Ward believes it is important to give young players a chance to prove themselves. He said: "Sometimes these guys come in and get a year's contract, get half way through that and start to worry, so we have tried to calm down that bit of things. People like Jordan need opportunities to come through, and we want to give them that chance. If they make it here, that is terrific, but if they don't that extra year gives them an opportunity to play as high as they can elsewhere."

Higgs also had his say. He said: “Jordan is another youngster who has come through the ranks of our Academy system. He has earnt himself another contract, and we hope he can continue to develop and progress with the club.”

Good news for him but I havent seen anything from him. Will he actually get game time to prove himself? I cant see it to be honest. Unless we dont get our midfield targets.

He'll be cheap. If he progresses all well and good, if not he'll go out on loan.
We're going to need a squad, and by definition that means some players who
won't get much match time but can 'plug a hole ' if necessary.

would be important to get more regular games for the reserve or developement squad to keep them match fit.
