Apologies as this is non football related...but as this the only forum I use. Watched the news in horror last night, a story of a 9 year old girl in Arizona, firing a UZI machune gun with live ammo at a firing range. The recoil ensured she lost control of tbr gun when it was on automatic and she shot the instructor in the head - killing him. Mostly all on film...hope her parents are proud of her and buy her ine for her 10th birthday. We have problems in th UK, but give me here over that sick misbegotten god fearing country. Rant over
I think their issue with changing the constitution is similar to our countries attempts to control human rights governed by the EU - delicate and full of pros and cons. Did you know that Kinder Eggs are banned in the USA for being dangerous?
I'm pretty sure that when the U.S. wrote that law, it was for the right to carry a Musket. And not what is basically a sub machine gun. Very sad, but it will happen until the idiots in power change the law. Imho it's all Bravado & bull**** I have only met one America whilst visiting Canada many years back. He thought it was normal and right. His right. The really sad thing is. Most U.S. citizens don't care.
Doesn't surprise me one little bit Smithers. Re the constitution...what may have been acceptable in the wild west doesn't make it acceptable in the 21st century. I'm reasonably certain that the 'founding fathers' did not intend for 9 year old girls to go round totung powerful sub machine guns capable of firing 600 rounds per minute. Or in those days the Davy Crockett equivalent !!
We went to a quiz night a couple of weeks back. Question was what is responsible for the most deaths of the human race. We all said " The Mosquito" The answer was man himself, which to be honest surprised me. Smithers, so it's OK to carry a loaded gun in your pocket. But NOT a Kinder egg?
Quite right too...killer chocolate!! It could contain Semtex or Sarin gas or a sharp plastic toy that could be used to stab people Better to be safe than sorry God save America
It is an horrendous example of how the most innocent and normal of activities (in their culture) appears to be so crazy to a culture like ours. From an outside perspective I don't have an issue with the right to bare arms, but i am aware that some of the people who take up that right are a danger to themselves and everyone else. It's always the extremes and can be seen in this example, it's bad enough to put a gun in her hand anyway, but to compound the event further they put an extremely high powered, high velocity firearm in her hands. As Potts said Man is the biggest killer. In relation to the danger of kinder eggs in the USA, has anyone seen one melt in white linen trousers in the Deep South? Terrifying!
