we are never get goals with adel taking all the dead balls we must of had ten free kicks in front of goal and two of them were good. one of adels and the one jenas took. on the plus side townsend looks lively very good. man of the match by far defence look solid fabio was great again. and of course cesar
Taarabt's dead ball kicks are generally awful, but the reason we don't get many goals is because we play too negatively. We played a 4-4-1-1 today, which was every bit as naive as Hughes's line-up against West Ham. Norwich had 51% possession and out-numbered us in the middle with a centre mid 3. They were incredibly niggly and pretty dirty at times, but they were playing for the draw from the off. We need to get players further forward. Play Taarabt centre in a 3 behind the forward and make sure those 4 attack more, whilst a defensive midfield 2 sit. We did get forward more in the 2nd half when Zamora was brought on and we had two bodies right up top, but he wasn't much better than Mackie.
the only goals I know of is a target in life you set out to achieve. something I gave up a long time ago. looks like our strikers suffer from the same thing.
It looked to me as that's exactly how we lined up first half as Townsend and SWP were far too advanced to be considered in a four with Derry and Mbia. Im looking forward to seeing how the 4-4-2 will work with Remy and Zamora. With Townsend looking like a genuine winger this could work well as despite not scoring we were all over Norwich second half when Zam came on for SWP and Jenas for Mbia. Jenas faded in the last ten but showed some serious class when he immediately came on. Him and Mbia or possible Diakite with Taarabt and Townsend out wide sounds lovely! Dont get me wrong I love Derry but now we need to win games rather than pick up points here and there we need midfielders who can hold and carry the ball.
