I was watching some old footage the other day and it made me think of how many brilliant goals must have been scored throughout the history of football.

Think of all the games on every astroturf, every school playground, i wonder how many goals are scored in the entire world in one day...

Theres loads more in my memory so ill be providing more videos at a later date when my brain unlocks some file cabinets in the hippocampus. I tried to find a beckenbauer swerve banana shot he did at with the 1958 or 1962 world cup but i couldnt find it on the holy grail that is youtube.


This thread is not formal and its personal opinion if a goal is underrated, so just lets just enjoy the variety of perceptions, i have a feeling we will all see some great goals we havent seen before.

Not necessarily underrated, as it got nominated for goal of the season, but the fact that it didn't get top 3 at least is a travesty.

Bottom one mostly for the build up, Whitecaps are like the Wigan of MLS, play good football but don't really win.

Ben Arfa's goal against Blackburn when he showed his silky smooth skills was quite a goal.

Can't find the goal but didn't Batty score a 40 yarder against Wimbledon, a couple of days after the famous Beckham goal also against Wimbledon.

 

Philipe Albert's goal against Man Utd was a bit special.

Got as much pleasure from that one as any I've seen.

 

Gary Speed away to Birmingham. Can't remember what season. Awesome!

 

Yes that was a cracking goal, last league goal for us as well, in the 03/04 season.
