davis (0) Richardson (0)------ Fonte (0)----- Hooiveld (1)---- Harding (1) Guly (4)--------Hammond (1)--------Chaplow (2)------Lallana (5) ------------lambert (10)-----------Connolly (4) subs Spiderman (1)--Holmes (1)--De Ridder (2)--Forte (2) 34 goals all comps, 25 in league and only 2 months into the season. Great to see goals coming from all over the park - bet Barnard cant wait to be a part of it, only a matter of time till Fonte gets on the scoresheet and even spiderman has one. Davis needs to be dropped as he is not contributing enough goals. can we beat the 86 we scored in league 1 last year? saints academy(u18) beat chelsea 3-2, 15 goals from 6 games and Jake Sinclair curently on fire. Would you add much to the squad in January? The present and the future is indeed bright. COYS (Can someone wake me up when this dream finishes)
Always good to see goals throughout the team..sometimes your main striker(s) may be off form in a game or marked out of it. The GD and goals scored may yet get us auto or into 6th place. Was often important when we were in the Premier League.
I've got Guly in my Texaco Fantasy Football team and he is one of top performing midfielders in the Championship with goals and assists.
Guly is one of my star men as well. Seems to be going down the Seaborne/Harding/Hammond route of just not being that popular.
Barney is no mean finisher and if you consider his return to the squad it just makes us a bigger threat to opposing defences than we already are
34 goals in all comps already is insane, we scored 109 or something in the first season in league 1, we can easily get 100 in the league this year i reckon, still got 3/4s of the season left to go!!
We're averaging 2.5 goals a game and letting in half that..makes for effective and entertaining football, though I would't mind if the defence were less entertaining.
Over the past nine seasons, the team which led the Championship in goals scored achieved automatic promotion six times, including in each of the last four seasons, and made the playoffs in the other three. We won't keep scoring at this rate (right now, I believe that only two other professional teams in England is scoring more goals per game: Manchesters United and City), but our adventurous style will turn plenty of draws into wins, even if it turns some others into losses.
Guly? Love him, unbelievable talent and imo loves the club, just look at the goal from yesterday, that takes class.
Gulys all round work rate has improved - he is getting better and better and a 4 goal return not bad so far. 12 different goalscorers and im sure Barnard, Cork and Fonte can make that 15 soon. In contrast pompey have only scored 10 league goals between them and even playoff contenders Hull have only scored 9 league goals. We are truly doing it in style add the that the chances we are creating....the saints go marching on.
Before the season started I predicted that Morgan would bag 5 goals this term, & I stand by that. Cue long drought.........then a brace......okay not a brace, but still reckon overall he'll get five.
Unless you look closely at last seasons DVD you probably don't realise how important Gulys goals were.
One second he will give the ball away with a shocker of a pass, the next he will score a wonder goal. You need a player like him in the team!
hopefully the price of that will come down soon, £16 is a rip off, come on cortese sort it out. i wouldnt even pay that for a chart blu-ray dvd.
Great we are getting goals from everywhere. Guly - I love him. Works hard when he wants to (alot) and can show some nonchalant touches that are breathtaking. This weekend I watched a half hour ESPN classic of Norwich v Saints April, 1993/94 season. We won 5-4 and MLT got a hat-trick. Even in the 30 minutes highlights, Matty wondered aimlessly around and I saw him give the ball away half a dozen times, yet he bagged three, set up the winner and was probably given MOM. That is why Guly can be a legend for us too. He has that nonchalance that quality players can show.
