Nothing to read into the result. We lost to Neath before the start of last season. <doh>

De Guzman's free kick was special. Siggy who?

I know it was only a friendly but the defending appeared a bit naff from the little I could make out. I hope our overall performance was better than that but match reports seem scanty to say the least - nothing about how the team or various individuals performed. Granted it's early days but I think we are all interested to know how things are shaping up.

PS to the above. Great goal from the free kick but I would have liked to see a score from open play. Seems we came close a number of times but coming close doesn't win games.

We started with what looked like Williams and Monk and Jazz at RB and Tremmel in goal. On the first goal Jazz was isolated overlapped on our right side by their LB or another player and whoever was playing RW or RM was nowhere to be seen.

From ML's comments after the match, whoever started the second half seemed to put out a better performance.

For whatever it is worth, Gower and Dobbie started the first half based on the video clips.

Don't think you can take much from this, hell we had Monk in defence, with Tremmel in goal?? Say no more, think this is a PR tour and nothing alse!................. <ok>

I think ML's main focus is assessing the marginal players to see who he should be shipping out.

It was Rodgers idea to go to USA, possibly to enhance his rep., would have been much better going to somewhere in Europe, just like last year. 8000 miles, 7 or 8 hours behind us, high altitude, extreme heat, never boded well for a relatively short tour. Still at least ML will have some sort of idea what he`s got to work with.
