Reading that 'Surgery for Harps' thread got me thinking.

Next season, we potentially have Fraser Forster coming back. So with him, Krul, Harper, and of course Soderberg....we have 3 class looking youngsters, and 1 Long Serving legend.

Now, we can't really have 4 keepers next season, because 2 of them are bound to get frustrated.

But the good, thing with 3 of them being young, is that we have a better chance of keeping them.

So, who would you keep at SJP next season?

I personally, would keep Harper as No.1, and keep Forster as No.2, and send Krul and Soderberg out on loan.

Forster looks to have proven himself at a big club, albeit in a less standard league. But, I think he deserves a shot at the big time now.

We need three goalies at the club. If Harps gets injured, Forster would come in and then Soderberg would deputise for him.

If we only had two keepers and Harper got injured and so did Forster, we would suddenly become very ****ed. Unless of course you put some kind of emergency recall in their contracts.

Anyway, yeah, I think we should put Krul out on loan and give Forster a few games in the EPL to see how he is. Once we have a direct comparison of both, we can keep one as our first choice goalie.

I hope that when he does finally retire, he gets a bloody good send off. No one deserves it more.

Sentiment aside, i think we should keep Krul and Forster as our two main keepers next season, start Krul as number 1.

In a perfect scenario imo, send Soderberg on loan somewhere and keep Harper/Krul/Forster at the club since we will need 3 keepers here, unless send Krul or Forster on loan somewhere with a recall clause if Harper/Krul get injured.

I really can't choose between Krul and Forster but I get the feeling having had a good run of games, Krul will be pretty narked if we send him out on loan. Forster hasn't played for us so being loaned out again could mean he finally gives up on the club. Soderberg should definitely be loaned out, he's not on the same level as the other two (yet) and needs a chance to prove himself. Harper has been a solid servant to the club and injuries aside, hasn't really set a foot wrong.

I can't help but feel that we'll be losing one of Krul or Forster after next season, even if Harper leaves, they're both deserving to be number 1 for a club.

Ideally I'd like to see Forster given a go next season and Krul loaned out but I think that might shatter his confidence and prompt a transfer request. <yikes>

I think thats pretty much agiven... he probably will be a GK coach.

Itd be great for him to get an England Cap before he retires.
