Ingram would appear, judging by articles and selections, that he is replacing Smithies as Number 1 on the basis that Jimmy bought him and not that Smithies has done anything wrong.

It started as a "rest" or minor injury, and we haven't seen him since. Way to repay a lad who quietly did the right things while fighting for his place, rightly gets his chance and is then shafted by the club egos.

Nothing against Ingram but Smithies hasn't done enough wrong to be dropped so soon, it's completely daft management.

Smithies for Number 1. Who's with me.....

Read somewhere that Smithies had some minor surgery hence only easing himself back to fitness.......JFH has said in the past he wants 2 quality keepers and that's what he's got......

If we can afford to have 2 quality Keepers JFH sounds right. I've never really followed the need for a definitive No 1 Keeper. But we seem stretched to find a quality first 11 these days, so I'm not sure we will keep both Ingram and Smithies.

This exactly my concern, would you be a positive force if having waiting for your chance and done well you get dropped for the managers old GK of choice?

We played our best when Smithies was between the stick, in my humble opinion.

Smithies is injured, just back in training, according to commentary v PSV. So no conundrum at all.

Does anybody know what's wrong with him? Sex Change? Hair transplant? footballers do some funny things these days.

I think this one is an elbow injury, although he has had a recurring serious knee injury that he picked up in 2011 which is a bit worrying.

Thanks for the news 9's, I didn't know about the knee so now I'll worry every time he kicks it. Lets hope he's ready for the season as a fit combo of Smithies/Ingram isn't a bad base.

Just a complete overhaul of midfield to complete in 4 weeks.
