:emoticon-0150-handsThe Barclays Premier League could see goal-line technology introduced as early as the 2012/13 season, according to its chief executive Richard Scudamore.

I would welcome it!!! It wouldn't effect the flow of the game at all and would make for some good hawkeye style replays.
Although some controversy is good for the game.

    Hmmm.

    Questionable timing.

Is this an attempt to deflect attention away from the shocking revelations of Monday night's Dispatches story with the intention of getting the fans back onside?

Or has my natural skepticism, cynicism & paranoia reached a new high?

Good spot, Jonesy. It's the equivalent of expenses-fiddling MPS benefit-bashing to distract the kneejerkers.

Kinda appropriate it's in the Mail.

Yep - who was castigated for saying "It's a good day to bury bad news" on the same day as the 9/11 atrocities?

I will relieved when this is done.

Which shut the likes of Fergie up.

Now I'm thinking more that it's a PR exercise for FIFA than because of the Dispatches thing. They must've been planning it before the show aired and they'll be mad keen to show they're changing in any way that doesn't involve their governance itself.

I wouldn't be surprised if there's a rule change allowing players to take their shirts off.
