I wonder how many times we will burst the net at Oakwell !!??

This is the thing right, we have been so bad going forward, our club is the sort of club where I wouldn't be surprised if we end up thumping Barnsley 3 or 4 nil. But I am expecting the reverse scoreline, even though we have one of the best defensive records so far in the league.

Too much of a footballing cliche that I fear when a side is firing blanks. Barnsley have uncharacteristically lost their last two outings and whose in town next ? Why do I always fear for the Rovers in situations like this ?

You have summed it up in that one sentence. There is no getting away from the fact that we are in dire trouble, and after hoping for weeks now that we will turn things around, its now plainly obvious that it isn't going to happen anytime soon, if at all! Personally I have resigned myself to us being relegated this season and I am not being a doom and gloom merchant, I'm looking at it realistically. If you cant score goals, you don't win games and if you don't win games, you will be relegated - fact! I have no issues with DC, think he has done more than any other manager could have done for this club, but unless he is suddenly handed a sack of money to spend (which I can't see happening), our current crop of goal scorers suddenly start scoring goals (which is hard to see happening anytime soon), then I think league 2 awaits us. Mind you, I'd rather watch a successful lge 2 club each week than a struggling lge 1 side, which is all we currently are. I'm afraid. Each season, you look at the league table and can normally identify 4 teams that are worse than you, and will probably struggle to survive. As long as you can keep those teams below you, you feel you'll be safe. Its sad to think that most of league 1 are probably doing that to us this season - we are one of the four. and look like staying there.
Well nothing's changed yet I'm afraid. - Had to be out all day so couldn't attend the Scunthorpe game, rushed home for about 5.00pm, turned on the local HTV news full of anticipation and hope for a good result, to be told by the female presenter that we had not only lost 2-1 at home, but Matty Lund scored the only goal for Rovers! Does nobody proof read this **** before they thrust it in front of the bimbo to read out? Must be the worst excuse for a local news service in the country, even worse than BBC local news. Oh, and I still think league 2 awaits us, I'm sorry to say.

And the local rag is crap too!

Henry Winter, the Times correspondent watched the game and was quite complimentary about the style of play and the fact that the lads created some good chances.

Sadly we are at the point now that the style of play and creating of good chances count for diddly squat! Only points on the board and goals are what matter from now on, and nobody cares if they are achieved by sheer luck, own goals, deflected penalties or aliens! Getting to the point where we can't afford to be too picky any longer!
