Considering the importance of getting a fair result in these play-off games I think it's no bad thing that this technology is being used at the Valley as well as at all the other league one play-off match grounds; https://www.cafc.co.uk/news/view/5af1d6d5e531b/goal-line-technology-installed-at-the-valley Apparently this technology is being used for all league games in the Championship. Presumably at the moment this particular installation is temporary, but if we do win promotion I guess a permanent version will be installed at our ground. This is not to be confused with VAR of course. Personally I have serious doubts about that, but as far as I know this technology for deciding whether the ball has crossed the goal line has proven reliable so far and I'm all in favour of it. There would be few things more galling than a disputed goal mouth scramble with the very weighty decision of whether the ball crossed the line being left to a linesman or referee who may have had less than a good view of matters - who then makes the 'wrong' call from our point of view. Of course that scenario can be flipped around and we might end up benefiting from a dubious goal decision, but for the sake of fairness I think this technology is a big help to the game at our level. It's simple and quick and apparently infallable, unlike VAR.
you'd think that be able to install goal line technology they'd be able to get someone in who can make a tea or pour a pint.
