I vote no to VT. Technology has invaded all aspects of our lives and just makes thing too anodyne. Yes we get referee mistakes and injustices, but that is one of the joys of football that it is said to reflect lifes inequalities.

Some of the best moemnts are when a team reacts to an injustice with grit and determination, like when Beckman was sent off against Agries in 98.

It also irks me because when people bring up VT it is often in resposnse to a defeat, and sounds like what they are saying is "If we had VT we would have won", which is rubbish. Dubious decision seem to favour the best teams is the cry we hear, as if to say that without such help the best teams would be "less -best".

As with any fan, I too have suffered from dodgy decisions, but once you get to the next game, you're over it, and nothing quite beats a whinge aboput porr referees does it.

People hold up the likes of criockjet and rugby as sports we should follow. I say to those people, fine go and watch cricket or rugby then, and let us enjoy sport "eu natural".

Jimmy Hill once described football as the greatest form of unrehearsed entertainment in the world, and Bill Shankly said something (more impt than life and death) which though I don't agree with kind of reflects the sentiment that a lot of people feel about football.

This baying for football to succumb at the altar of tv technology will take away thaat essential raw edge in our game. I like the fact that football is flawed, and that the bd guys do get to win from time to win, the cruel irony embedded within the games and results, played out over a season.

  6. Yesterdays's dive by Young seems par for the course these days and it ruins the game. Whilst referees can't see everything, linemen too don't see or act on everything when they should. I believe VT will bring back an element of fairness in the game and cut out the blatant cheating. A goal is a goal while a foul should be called out. Why rely on it being a game of chance or consequence of manipulation when we pour money into the game to harness all the skills that are available? VT is long overdue.

QPR999 - don't take it personally, I'd be every bit as cheesed off as you if it'd happened to us. But in a weeks time when hopefully a ball boy will score from a tap in for you giving you 3 points you will be able to afford yourself a wry grin at how wonderful it is when things even themselves out. Hope you survive - good to have the Prem Lge full of London clubs.
