If it is true as reported and MH is looking at the Jock keeper or that useless ****er at Spurs Gomez he could do worse that than the Wigan keeper despite letting in 3 he stopped a massacre

Wasn't Foster mooted during the week as well.
I must say that Al-Habsi is a quality stopper though.

Al habsi is a top keeper but he cost them 4 million at the beginning of the season I think that sort of money would be better spent elsewhere

I don't think the goalkeeping position is a weakness at present. Al Habsi is quality and if Wigan go down will be one of the players in a firesale as they look to cut costs, review then...

The link I personally fancy the most is Alan McGregor from Rangers, better than both Foster and Gomez imo.

Thanks for the clarity here CB.

Good to know that gossip of other targets is just paper talk as usual.

Al Habsi is NOT a good keeper technically. I live with a keeper and he mentions everytime how Al Habsi's positioning is so bad that the saves he makes make him look better than he actually is, most other keepers would just side step 2 paces and catch what he dives and tips wide.
He is a good shot stopper at times, like Buzz's volley, but other than that he is not a good keeper.

it does not suprise me that we are going for a new keeeper. i think kenny has been a bit of a let down this season. i also thought that cerny was unlcky to just get dropped again when he played so well.

Don't rate foster personally against norwich for the surman goal he seemed to dive over the ball <doh>

I personally think it is a position we do need to address. Kenny did not look interested on Saturday and looks like he has put on a stone since his injury. Hard to judge but not convinced. I personally would like to see el habsi at the lofts road. Wigan are going down and he will become available in the summer.

    Agree with that post queensland.

I have a real soft spot for Kenny and he was outstanding last year in the championship. Big step up this season, he's isn't doing badly, but the goalkeeper is every teams most important position so it's only natural that we look to strenghten it. Many has said it before, we have more pressing matters in january and this is something that can wait until the summer. And more importantly, hopefully we can aim higher than just picking up others second or third choices as no one are interesting at letting their first choice keeper leave in january.

I thought Kenny looked "interested", he was certainly slagging off his defenders at times! But my immediate reaction when Rodeyga's goal when in was "move you fat C*nt". When I saw it again I thought ok, he probably wasn't going to get that, but still he was totally static. I also would like to see Cerny play again - thought he played at least as well as Paddy, maybe better, and would give Paddy some competition. Not sure a keeper is priority now either, but if we get a good and realatively young one, why not. Neither Paddy or Cerny are youngsters!

Against us he made 2 or 3 bad errors that we should have made them pay for. Think there is better options out there then Foster.

Personally don't think cerney is the answer. 5 games, zero clean sheets and just one point. His distribution is awful and cannot come for crosses. Not a bad shot stopper but that's about it. Kenny until may then a newbie in the summer as Colin will sign him again.
