Who knows what will happen if we make the play off or not, the form we are in, you cant count us out just yet. But something tells me our goal difference might end up playing a factor. Currently we are on -5. The teams above us have - Fleetwood +2, Chesterfield +10, Bradford +9, Exeter +9 and Rotherham +6. Do you think we will even get into + figures???
If we get into positive territory with our goal difference and finish in the top 10 then that would be an astonishing achievement when you remember where we were a few short months ago. What John Ward has done is quite simply brilliant and sets us up very well for next season. Our situation is very different from this time last year when MM guided us away from trouble. We played some decent stuff then, but we also played poorly and there were signs that all was not great under MM's reign. John is completely different - he has got the best out of limited resources with a huge injury list of senior players. He has instilled a great ethic in the players and has fostered an excellent feeling around the club. For me, talk of the play offs is unrealistic with our run in and effectively 6 points to make up. But just to be considered contenders (which we are by the BBC) is remarkable and a testament to Ward's efforts. I think we'll finish 8th on 65 points and -2 goal difference.
