Ref should have booked him for going to the crowd then booked him again for time wasting. Would have solved the issue straight away.
To be fair he took the phone from a camera man right behind the goal and didn't waste any more time than the usual pats on the back and group hugs that happen after a goal. I just don't like the fact that he's pre planned it all, down to having a mate with the video camera and a mobile phone behind the goal, he then gets all his mates to join him in the right place for said camera man to film it all and then puts in on social media during the game.
I don’t think players should be discouraged from celebrating a goal in any way, shape or form, unless it’s gonna cause a riot.
I just think that the majority of pre planned celebrations are sad and embarrassing. And this one just tops the lot. If he'd have asked me to be part of it I would have told him to piss off.
Just had a look at his Insta and it’s been watch 2.9 million times and liked by 750k, so I’d suggest some folk like it the other way. I like celebrations, but each to their own.
Lots of people watch and like stuff like reality TV, don't make it good. Good old fashioned handshake and a light jog back to your position should suffice. Seriously though Ive nowt against somebody or a team celebrating like mad, see Paolo Di canio against the town. But choreographed, planned nonsense like this makes me squirm with embarrassment and makes them look like bairns.
I usually like funny pre planned celebrations but my natural dislike of people taking selfies and fishing for attention on social media means I don't like this one.
