They have annoyed quite a few clubs! I hope we don't deal with them again, they are not worth the effort involved.

 

The problem is that you don't have to deal with them....they mess you about for fun.

 

Nice to see the club publicising their stance though, an unusual step, really.

 

It is about time clubs stood up to Spurs........It is also understandable other clubs too are beginning to say to Levy to get stuffed. He runs the club in a similar way the Krays ran the east end. Stuff the consequences and **** on whoever or what ever they can. At last though clubs are waking up to it.

 

Must be annoying to Poch ....surely he just wants to get players in.

Well, I'm heartily glad that the club has said something, or perhaps Jeremy Wilson is giving a focused voice to barely concealed murmurings by the club. Either way it is exactly what I have been making noises about before, and I know some others feel the same. In a sport business where everything is in the media and public glare, these unsettling and tapping-up tactics of Spurs [and I would say Liverpool too from suspicious circumstances, I consider them direct rivals] are inappropriate and should not be allowed.

 

Indeed. It's a ploy and it should be made illegal, if possible.

 

Good to see this. I'd be happy if we never did business with them again. I would rather Portsmouth bought our players.

Actually Poch and Levy are a perfect match; pair of deceitful slimy gits. I wonder which of them will be the first to turn the other one over?

 

I think we all know the answer to that question...be surprised if Poch lasts the season unless results improve

 

I can imagine scenarios where he doesn't even last the month. A slip-up against either Sunderland or Palace and a drubbing by Arsenal in the League Cup and Levy might get restless.

Couple of points.

On Pochettino, Spurs have changed manager every 14 months or so this century. On that measure Pochettino is outstaying his welcome. Levy's irrational and doesn't see that chopping and changing doesn't work particularly well. No matter how much we might see it as rational to keep Pochettino, Levy won't that get in his way. Also, Levy's dunderhead dealings have left them with one striker, a striker who grossly outperformed last year and can be counted on to regress to the mean. It's Levy's fault that there's no cover but Levy will need someone else to blame if the goals dry up. Mauricio's head's in the noose on that one. In parenthesis, Spurs have had a manager every 14 months under Levy compared with a manager every 42 months in the rest of their existence.

On Spurs dealings, this is potentially quite a clever move by Saints. If we let is be known that we won't deal with Spurs then any agitation by Levy in future will fail. The process becomes: Levy leaks that he's looking at X. X's agent brings it up with Saints. Saints point out that we've stated we don't deal with Spurs. Agent loses his ammunition. Problem goes away. Possibly.
