What's Bain done wrong? I think he's made quite an incredible go of getting out finances back on track while providing a squad that should be stable in this league. We're underperforming. It falls on Short, Grayson and the team. Not Bain for me.

Bain is just a stooge(and looks to be doing a good job from Short's point of view). Doesn't matter if he goes, his replacement would be made to carry out exactly the same job. Angry fans just want to burn money it seems, when it's not sacking the drones it's pay off the players. Does short look like a bloke who is willing to shell out more on pay offs and compo? He won't sack Grayson either and even if he did he wouldn't fund a decent manager so we'd be stuck with some daft **** like Steve Kean.

Short is the problem and there's **** all we can do about him sadly.

Bit farcical to blame Bain for our results. Do you think Grayson's saying "let's go 4 at the back" and Bain's swooping in from the rafters with a knife to Grayson's throat and forcing him to play 5? Grayson needs to pull his socks up, get the defence drilled and stop ****ing about with the formation.

He seems to know his best side but he also seems incapable of recognising that 5 at the back doesn't work. None of which has anything to do with Bain.

Cant speak about Bain..He is a middleman who's arms are tied.

But maybe Larry was yet another blunder (although he has massive restrictions he stills seems another clusterfuck).

John carver spotted outside the colliery tavern ! Players like Rodwell strolling about in league one on £60,000 a week will be a mickey take alone. What the hell went on 4 or 5 years ago ? they should have been cautious back then as we were never a team a nailed certainty to stay in the premier league. Should these people from the past be made to pay for their mistakes ?

Can't see what Bain has to do with all this. Grayson's the manager, after all. And I'm all for giving Grayson the whole season, since a recent bunch of good managers have failed dismally at the SoL. It's not his fault the club's in the crap, but it's his job to get us out. If he hasn't by the end of the season then by all means sack him. But he gets the season in my book...

Who chose Grayson to be our manager? Bain i expect. So in that sense Bain is culpable also. The job is clearly too big for Grayson and that's nowt against him as it would be too big a job for most.
What the club and fans need more than anything right now is a spark. Someone who can get the fans on board in an instance. Been saying it for most of the year and haven't changed my mind.
    Kevin Phillips!
As someone mentioned, we have an under performing squad and with the players we have AT THIS LEVEL we should be mid table at least.
Phillips could do a Keane in his 1st managerial job...that's my opinion anyway lads!

Bain's decision making is dictated by his budget though, do you expect him to put his hand in his own pocket to produce a deal with enough financial incentive to lure a good manager who will be risking his professional reputation by joining us? We're club restricted by heavy financial restraints. It effects a lot more than how much we have to spend on players, it effects everything, including our pulling power to bring in a capable manager.

Philips would require a compensation package to Derby and that's after we've paid a compensation package for Grayson, doubt that will appeal to Short, plus why on earth would Kev risk his entire management career with his first job with this poison chalice?

Non starter on all levels imo.

I'd love him once things are going better like, now would be professional suicide for lad imo.

He wouldn't be putting anything on the line with regards to his reputation though. If it didn't work out people would just say he had no chance from the start.
But if it did work out!...
Basically i'm pretty sure he could get more out of the squad than Grayson is. We have decent players at this level.
Would Grayson stand to get much of a pay out? He might do a Moyes and say he doesn't want a pay out lol.
I disagree that we should just give Grayson the whole season come what may. We did that last season with Moyes...

On what basis would he get more out of the squad than Grayson? He's never managed at this level. Or any level. Grayson has and has shown he can do it. We have a poor squad- we can just about scrape together 11 players who would fit into a mid table Championship side- but overall its too small and its weak in comparison to at least half of the other clubs in the division. Grayson may not be getting things right at this moment in time but at least he looks like he wants to, unlike Moyes who gave up after a fortnight. Phillips will do no better than Grayson. Quinny was a club legend when he took over as manager and he was crap at it. That's why he went and got Roy Keane.

Why can't people realise that no ****a wants to either buy us or manage us.. We are a poisoned chalice of a club at this present time and probably regarded as a managers graveyard.. Grayson has a decent track record with other clubs and is probably as good as we will get at the moment..

In all seriousness i would get more out of that squad than Grayson! How do u know Phillips wouldn't get more out of them? It's happened on many occasions where a new man in gets more out of the same team.
What's really concerning me though is that his body language is already flat.
I'm not saying he doesn't care! He clearly does. I just think the job in hand is too big for him. Just my opinion.

I know i can't say this with certainty but i don't think Phillips would play 5 at the back at home. For whatever reason we are under performing. And that's a fact.
