Buckle has to go now. 2-0 up at half-time against a poor Argyle team. Then a shambolic second half performance with the first substitution made with 5 minutes left. This fool has eaten into the soul of our club. I have been told of too many incidents involving him by people directly involved or present. He can't have the ego rush of leading us out against Villa. We are now relegation candidates. Go now Buckle !
Today will be my last game watching Rovers as long as he is in charge! The man is clueless! When they got back into it, it was obvious that we needed fresh legs in the middle - to make 1 sub 5 mins from time (McGleish on for Zebedee up front) just goes to show you that he hasn't got a scubby about anything football wise. Post match interview he talked about a heavy pitch - it was the same for them and they looked ok in the second half. Then he said we needed a good header in the heart of defence - excuse me but you are the one who bought in 19 players - why didn't you get that covered. Sorry Mr Chuckle - GO NOW PLEASE - I can take it NO MORE!
I'd love to be able to argue the point Pirate but I have to be honest I agree with every point you've made. We had less possession, fewer shots on target and fewer corners at home against one of the few sides below us in the table. If Buckle and Higgs aren't ashamed by that then neither of them are fit to be involved in any football club. Perhaps we should run "The Excuses Game" and predict what's going to be trotted out to explain this latest debacle. Here's my effort on this: - "Well I'd looked at the long range weather forecast and saw it looked like rain. I therefore thought the ground would get waterlogged and the game would be cancelled, so I told the team we wouldn't bother training and we had several games of bingo instead just like Don Revie did when he was England Manager in the 1970's. Then the wind directon changed slightly and the anticipated downpour failed to materialise so I had to send them out without a game plan and just hoped the rain would come and the game be abandoned. I totally blame the BBC Weather Service for providing such misleading information and what was really disappointing was that I'd heard the Pools Panel were going to declare the game as a home win so this would have given us something to build on going into the New Year". How many will we take to Forest Green Rovers next season?
excuse my invasion, heavy pitch, we have not had that much rain, he must go and i could recommend paul simpson, who rescued town from relegation about 4 years ago and took us to wembley the next year, yes we lost a play off final again chris, i am sure it is buckle and not necessarily the players at fault. good luck gas, get rid soon. else he will take you into uncharted terratory
Buckle should be given more time. After all, he brought in so many new players during the close season that they still haven't had chance to gel.
could it be that chuckle is the reason why they are not gelling. besides they had a lucky gel at home to the tinpots, they gelled at morecambe and at southend, i am sure chuckle is the problem and if higgs cannot see that he should go as well. ptbatp proud to be a tin pot
Sorry Kasule it shouldn't take this long for the team to gel. He's had 6 months plus now. If the players aren't good enough then he's responsible as he's brought them in. If he can't get his views across or motivate the players then that is also his fault as he isn't a good enough man manager. Not only should Buckle go but Higgs as well. It was his decision before the start of last season to slash the playing budget Trollope had to work within yet demanded better results from this. He then sacked Trollope when we'd had a run of bad results in a couple of months just before the bad weather. He then left Patterson in charge during the enforced break and players fitness levels dropped off significantly. He then appointed Dave Penney who had 12 games in charge and was jettisoned as results were poor. We then had Campbell who although got improved performances out of the squad couldn't get results so he wasn't retained in that position after we were relegated. Buckle has had longer in charge than his predecessors and under him we've taken a massive step backwards playing in a lower division. If this was happening at your club Kasule you'd be fuming too.
short term you may want stuart back pending a new manager being appointed, it sounds as though campbell would make a good player/assistant manager to a manager who wants to bring a coach on.
The board will wait until we lose our next two games and go botom of the league then i think they might sack him but very unlikely.
I managed a Sunday Pub team in the lowest league in Wiltshire .... even I could see we needed fresh imputus after they scored their first goal. He didn't even warm up the subs - i.e. - send a message to those on the pitch that you want more from them. The second half was just a shambolic clueless group of blokes running around, everytime the defence cleared the ball it came straight back! I will hold me hand up and say I missed the third goal - I was already on my way to the car (well it does take me the best part of 2 hours to get home!) - I had seen enough! Leadership comes from the top - if he went NOW then I am sure another person with a few leadership and organisational qualities could produce a half decent side with these guys
i fear you may be wrong rhinestone, another person could produce a decent side with those guys. half does not come into i suspect
